Walk with Me at Cala Xarraca
Cala Carraca isn’t the most famous spot in Ibiza, but that’s exactly what makes it special. Tucked away from the crowds, it offers crystal-clear waters, soft sand, and that raw, peaceful charm that feels untouched. This walk was one of those slow, grounding moments—just waves, wind, and sun.
Save this spot if you’re planning a trip to Ibiza—it’s worth wandering off the beaten path for.

After my recent visit to Ibiza, I absolutely have to share more about Cala Xarraca. You know how everyone talks about the big, bustling beaches? Well, Cala Xarraca is the complete opposite, and that’s precisely its charm. Tucked away in the northern part of Ibiza, Spain, this beautiful, secluded bay truly felt like my own private escape. Getting there required a bit of navigating off the main roads, which only added to the sense of discovery. I’d highly recommend renting a car or scooter to explore this side of the island. Once you arrive, the views are breathtaking – rugged cliffs embracing a cove of incredibly crystal-clear water and soft, reddish sand. It’s perfect for those of us who yearn for a more authentic, tranquil Ibiza experience, far from the party scene. One of the most unique aspects of Cala Xarraca, and something I was so excited to discover, are the natural mud baths. Yes, you read that right! Along the left side of the beach (as you face the sea), you'll find areas where the clay-rich earth mixes with seawater. It's a fantastic, free spa experience! I spent a good hour covering myself in the mineral-rich mud, letting it dry in the sun, and then rinsing off in the refreshing Mediterranean. It felt amazing on my skin, and it’s such a fun, natural way to connect with the island. Don't forget to pack an old swimsuit, just in case the mud leaves a bit of a stain! Beyond the mud baths, the coastline around Cala Xarraca is fantastic for exploring. I brought my snorkeling gear, and the underwater visibility was incredible. So many colorful fish darting around the rocky outcrops! It’s not just a place to sunbathe; it’s an invitation to explore, whether that’s swimming, paddling, or simply walking along the shore, listening to the gentle waves. There’s a quiet charm here that encourages you to slow down and truly appreciate nature. While it’s secluded, there’s usually a small, charming chiringuito (beach bar) during peak season, offering refreshments and delicious food. It’s simple, authentic, and fits perfectly with the relaxed vibe of the beach. I loved grabbing a fresh juice and just watching the world go by. If you’re planning a trip to Ibiza and looking to escape the usual tourist traps, please, please add Cala Xarraca to your itinerary. It truly is a hidden gem that offers a peaceful retreat, natural beauty, and unique experiences like those therapeutic mud baths. Go early in the morning for the most serene experience, or stay until late afternoon to catch a stunning sunset over the water. It’s these unspoiled spots that make an Ibiza trip truly unforgettable.
