Oh my goodness, you have to add Cala Benirrás to your Ibiza itinerary! I recently visited this stunning Benirras Beach, tucked away on the north coast, and it completely stole my heart. It’s not just any beach; it’s an experience, a true slice of bohemian paradise that feels a world away from the island's bustling party scene. I was looking for a more authentic, chill vibe, and Benirras delivered beyond my expectations. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by incredibly clear, turquoise waters and a mix of sand and pebbles. The backdrop is lush pine forests, and dominating the view is the iconic rock formation known as Cap Bernat, rising majestically from the sea. It’s absolutely breathtaking and makes for some incredible photos. The atmosphere here is super relaxed, with a friendly, almost spiritual energy. You’ll see people practicing yoga, drumming, or simply soaking up the sun. But if there’s one thing Benirras Beach is truly famous for, it’s the Sunday drum circles. I was lucky enough to experience this, and wow, what an event! As the sun begins to set, hundreds of people gather, and drummers start their rhythmic beats. It’s an incredible, almost hypnotic experience that really creates a sense of community and celebration. The energy is palpable, and watching the sunset over Cap Bernat with the drums as your soundtrack is something I’ll never forget. My top tip: get there early on a Sunday to secure a good spot, as it gets incredibly busy! Beyond the drums, Cala Benirrás is perfect for a chilled-out beach day. The water is so inviting – I spent hours swimming and snorkeling around the rocks, spotting little fish. It’s pretty sheltered, making it great for a relaxing dip. When hunger strikes, there are a few lovely chiringuitos (beach bars/restaurants) right on the sand. I grabbed a delicious fresh seafood lunch at Elements, which has such a cool, bohemian vibe, and enjoyed a refreshing drink while taking in the views. There's also a small market some days, where you can find unique handmade crafts and jewelry, adding to that authentic Ibiza feel. Getting to Benirras Beach is part of the adventure. It’s located in the north of Ibiza, and the drive down can be a bit winding, but totally worth it. Parking can be a challenge, especially on Sundays, so if you're driving, try to arrive early morning or late afternoon. Alternatively, some people opt for a taxi or even a boat trip to avoid parking hassles. I’d recommend bringing some water shoes if you're sensitive to pebbles, as parts of the beach are a mix of sand and small stones. And definitely bring your camera for those epic sunset shots! Overall, my visit to Cala Benirrás was a highlight of my trip to Ibiza. It’s a place where you can truly unwind, connect with nature, and experience a unique side of the island.
