office workers, if yall are craving a good and filling meal for only $7.80, this is the spot to go to!! 😋 this stall serves traditional noodles like bcm, fishball noodles and laksa at seriously affordable prices (especially considering the area) 🍜
their bcm was LEGIT. i really loved how vinegar forward the sauce was, with a slight punch of spice 😍 the mee pok was cooked al dente, with a satisfying chew in every bite. i was also pleasantly surprised by the generous portion size, especially the amount of fishcake, fishballs and meatballs given. definitely a super filling meal!
they also sell laksa, which is another popular choice here. the owner mentioned that they only sell around 14 bowls a day (before running out), so you already know it’s legit 😉 the broth was rich and decently spicy, with a strong coconut flavour. they were very generous with the hum too, for those who enjoy it
overall, this is a solid lunch spot if you work around the area. it’s really hard to find food of this price and quality these days 🍜

I personally love how the pork lard adds richness and depth, enhancing the traditional Teochew bak chor mee experience.
One unique aspect that surprised me was the use of sole fish in their fishball noodles—this adds a fresh texture and a subtle seafood flavor that elevates the dish beyond your usual bak chor mee. Additionally, the vinegar-forward sauce with just a hint of spice gives it a punch that wakes up your palate.
The laksa here is not to be missed either, although only about 14 bowls are served daily before they sell out. The broth is rich and spicy, with that unmistakable coconut aroma, and a generous amount of hum (prawn paste) that softens the heat and rounds out the flavor beautifully.
For anyone working in or near the CBD, this place offers an unbeatable combination of taste, portion size, and price. Plus, the authenticity and local charm make it more than just a quick meal—it’s a genuinely satisfying Teochew dining experience. Definitely add Ah Gong Teochew Noodle to your lunch rotation if you appreciate affordable, high-quality Singaporean hawker food!
Lastly, consider trying the additional sides like wantons and meatballs, which are affordably priced and complement the noodles perfectly. This spot truly exemplifies value for money without compromising on taste or authenticity.
