CANELÉ FROM THIS HOMEBAKER 🏡🍞

📍 pecanpine

this homebaker makes delicious pastries like canelé, financiers and focaccia! it was my first time trying a canelé and wow i was super impressed 😊

the canelé looked really pretty at first glance, with a dark, thick caramelised crust. the insides were sooo custardy, soft and tender 😍 it was the perfect textural combination in each bite. kinda crazy that such intricate pastries are made at home 🏠

their focaccia was another sight to behold! it was super fragrant from the garlic butter, and the pungent 🧄 aroma filled the air. the focaccia was crusty on the outside but light and airy on the inside, which is the perfect texture 🍞 there were pockets of garlic bits inside too, so every bite had a burst of garlicky flavour.

overall, their pastries are really well crafted, and i honestly can’t believe everything is made from home. best part, they’re located at khatib which is super near me hahaha so definitely go try them out :)

... Read moreAs someone who’s explored many pastries, I have to say the canelé from Pecanpine stands out because of its amazing texture contrast. The thick caramelized crust is beautifully dark, giving a slight crunch that balances the incredibly soft, moist custard inside. This cross section truly shows the skill involved in home baking — it’s rare to find this level of precision outside professional bakeries. Also, the garlic butter focaccia is worth mentioning. The fragrant aroma fills the room even before tasting, and the light, airy inside with bursts of real garlic bits makes it very satisfying. It feels fresh and homemade with every bite. If you’re curious about how homemade pastries can rival those from cafes, Pecanpine at Khatib is a great example. Their craftsmanship shines through in every detail, from texture to flavor balance. Definitely a hidden gem for fellow pastry lovers!
