THIS HBB SPECIALISES IN THAI BASIL PORK 🇹🇭🌿🐷

📍 sing kra pao

basil pork rice is one of my all-time fav thai dishes, cuz it’s spicy, super fragrant and packed with flavour 🌶️🔥 and this homebased biz honestly serves up one of the best versions i’ve had in sg 🇹🇭

they were inspired by a stall they used to love at golden mile (which sadly closed 🥲), so they decided to recreate and perfect their own version, and they really nailed it ;)

you can choose from pork, chicken or beef, and also between holy basil or thai basil 🌿 highly recommend getting both to try cuz the flavour profiles are quite different 😋 i personally preferred the thai basil one, it was more aromatic and slightly sweeter

for the meats, i tried the pork and chicken! the pork is defo the classic go-to, but the chicken is a great lighter option if you want something less heavy

each set comes with fluffy white rice, a perfectly crispy sunny side up (with that runny yolk omg 🍳) and a generous portion of meat. they also include their spicy and tangy prik nam pla 🌶️ which really elevates everything! adds that extra punch and balance to the dish 😆

the thai milk tea was also sooo good omg not overly sweet, nice and milky, and honestly the perfect drink to cool down after all that spice.

overall, super satisfying meal!! love discovering such solid food from a homebased biz 🥹 punggol people really lucky hahah

Sing Kra Pao
1 week agoEdited to

... Read moreAs a longtime fan of Thai basil pork rice, I can truly appreciate a version that nails the balance of spice, aroma, and flavor. Sing Kra Pao manages to capture the essence of this beloved dish perfectly, especially with their choice between holy basil and Thai basil. While holy basil offers a slightly peppery, more pungent note, the Thai basil variety is wonderfully aromatic and has a subtle sweetness that elevates the dish. From personal experience, the inclusion of the crispy sunny-side-up egg is a game changer—the runny yolk adds a creamy texture that complements the spicy meat perfectly. The fluffy white rice provides a neutral base, balancing the bold flavors of the basil pork or chicken. Another highlight is their prik nam pla, a spicy and tangy fish sauce condiment, which adds an extra dimension of flavor and enhances the overall taste of each bite. It’s these small touches that show the passion behind this homebased business. For those who want a lighter option, the basil chicken is a fantastic alternative without sacrificing any of the signature Thai flavors. And if you’re feeling adventurous, trying both basil types is a delightful way to explore the range of traditional tastes. To cool down the heat, the Thai milk tea from Sing Kra Pao strikes the ideal balance between milky richness and controlled sweetness, making it the perfect accompaniment. Finding such authentic Thai basil pork rice in Singapore, especially from a homebased stall inspired by a now-closed Golden Mile favorite, is a rare and exciting experience. It’s a must-try for anyone craving genuine Thai comfort food with bold flavors and satisfying textures.
