HAVE YOU TRIED A TACO OMAKASE BEFORE 🇲🇽🌮🌯

📍 taco liberation co

this hawker stall has such a novel concept, kinda like a blind box or omakase experience 🎁 for each taco set, you can choose meat, veg or mixed, and the chef will prepare their specialty flavours for you 😋

i tried their set of 3 meat tacos and set of 2 mixed tacos 🌮 the meat flavours included lemongrass chicken, tomyam chicken and pork bourguignon 🍗🐷 all the flavours were super unique, and honestly unlike anything i’ve tried before. my favourite was definitely the lemongrass chicken, which tasted really refreshing and fragrant.

each taco comes packed with a generous amount of meat, along with fresh ingredients like lettuce, salsa and cheese 🥬🧀 they may look small at first, but they are actually REALLY hefty hahaha 😭 honestly 2 tacos can probably fill up a small eater already.

for the veggie option, i tried their mushroom variant 🍄 it came with sautéed mushrooms and had a really nice chinese mexican fusion flavour profile.

for sides, i got their overloaded nachos which were loaded with cheese sauce and sooo much meat 🤤 super good for sharing with friends. they also make their own guacamole dip, which tasted really fresh and paired perfectly with the crispy nacho chips 🥑

to end off the meal, you should definitely get their sweet potato tiramisu 🍰 one scoop is only $4, which is honestly such a steal in the cbd 😮 they even sell full boxes for just $13.

overall, this is such a hidden gem in amoy food centre ☺️ if you’re getting bored of the usual hawker lunch options, you should really give this place a try!

... Read moreAside from the tasty tacos, I found that the taco omakase concept adds an exciting element of surprise and variety to the dining experience, perfect for adventurous foodies. The combination of flavors such as the tangy tomyam chicken and rich pork bourguignon really shows the chef’s creativity in blending traditional and fusion elements. The generous meat portions in each taco make this a satisfying meal even for bigger appetites. For vegetarians, the mushroom taco stood out with a delightful Chinese-Mexican fusion taste, demonstrating great attention to diverse preferences. The sides complement the tacos well, especially the overloaded nachos topped with ample cheese sauce and meat, which is ideal for sharing with friends during casual outings. Ending the meal with the sweet potato tiramisu was a treat—a surprisingly affordable dessert offering at CBD prices that balances sweetness with a unique twist. Overall, Taco Liberation Co is a hidden gem for those looking to break away from usual hawker fare, offering both novelty and quality in one spot.

Value for money omakase!
🤩 $115 for 11 courses, premium ingredients like Hokkaido Oysters, A5 Wagyu, Uni, and fresh sashimi is really value for money. Local chef, non-traditional hole in the wall spot. Definitely better than average for this price range, and would recommend the restaurant to non-Japanese food snobs!

Omakase at $98 per pax for 12 course
We tried this omakase at $98 per pax for 12 courses. It’s affordable and definitely value for money, though honestly there isn’t much of a wow factor, most courses are sushi. We added a few extra dishes at additional cost and those made a big difference. The foie gras and beef were especial
