THIS STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE BAR WAS BOMB 💣🔥🍓

📍 butter theory

if you’re a cheesecake lover but prefer your desserts less sweet, this homebaker in serangoon is definitely one to check out!! 🍰😆 from creamy cheesecakes to rich chocolate brownies, his bakes strike a really nice balance without being overly jelak.

no wonder the strawberry cheesecake bar is their bestseller! from first glance, it already looked like the most appetising one and was immediately calling out to me 😍 it had 3 beautiful layers, consisting of a buttery graham cracker crust as the base, a creamy cheesecake centre and a light strawberry sour cream layer on top. the tanginess from the strawberries paired perfectly with the sweetness of the cheesecake, making every bite super well-balanced 🤤 i absolutely loved this one! 🍓

the basque cheesecake looked heavenly too!! i’ve rarely seen one with such a flowy centre, which is exactly what i look for in a good basque cheesecake 😮‍💨 the surface was beautifully golden brown with a slightly firmer crust, while the inside was sooo creamy and gooey. the contrast in textures made it even more satisfying!

lastly, the dark chocolate brownie was another good treat 🍫 it was extremely moist and fudgey on the inside! definitely not a cake-y type of brownie. there was even choco chips on the inside, so it was basically a double chocolate combination yums

overall, his bakes are not overly sweet, so they’re perfect if you’re craving a good treat without feeling too jelak 😆 definitely check butter theory out if you’re around serangoon ~~

... Read moreAs someone who has always been cautious about overly sweet desserts, finding Butter Theory felt like a breath of fresh air. Their approach to cheesecake bars, especially the Strawberry Cheesecake Bar, offers a delightful experience that caters perfectly to those who prefer subtle sweetness paired with fresh fruity notes. The three-layer combination — a buttery graham cracker crust, a smooth baked cheesecake center, and a light strawberry sour cream layer — creates a stunning balance of textures and flavors that felt indulgent without being overwhelming. What truly impressed me was the tangy freshness of the strawberry sour cream. It cut through the mild sweetness of the cheesecake, making each bite refreshing and satisfying. This balance is key for cake lovers who want to enjoy richness without feeling too jelak or heavy afterward. The Basque cheesecake stood out with its beautifully burnt exterior and wonderfully creamy, almost flowy inside. The golden brown crust added a slightly firmer texture that contrasted nicely with the smooth center — this made eating it feel like a luxurious treat. It's clear that the baker has mastered the art of texture contrast. The dark chocolate brownie was a lovely surprise as well. Moist and fudgy, this brownie packed intense chocolate flavor with an additional crunch from chocolate chips tucked inside, elevating the classic brownie experience. Located in Serangoon, Butter Theory is a must-visit for anyone looking for homebaked treats that are thoughtfully crafted to avoid excessive sweetness. Their bakes bring joy and satisfy cravings for delightful desserts without the heaviness, making it ideal for everyday indulgences or special occasions. I’ve personally found it to be a perfect spot to grab dessert that impresses both in flavor and texture, and I highly recommend exploring their offerings if you’re nearby.
