neighbourhood waffles are such a nostalgic snack to me, especially the ones from my fav bakery at khatib! so when i saw that this hbb specialises in traditional pandan waffles, i knew i had to try them out 🧇💚
they currently have 4 flavours: plain, kaya, hazelnut chocolate and peanut butter. there aren’t any of the fancy or unique flavours yet, but i’m secretly hoping they’ll release flavours like black sesame or taro one day 😆😆 my favsss
the pandan waffle itself has such a nice texture! the insides have that slightly kueh-like chewiness that i absolutely love, while the surface gets a lil crisp after reheating 🧇 it gives such a satisfying textural contrast, and that chewy centre is always something i look for in a good neighbourhood waffle 😋
the pandan fragrance could be a lil stronger imo, but i loveee the vibrant green hue that comes from their all-natural pandan essence 💚 there’s just something about a warm green pandan waffle straight out of a paper bag that feels sooo nostalgic and traditional hahaha
overall, this is such a simple and comforting snack that stays close to my heart 🥹 tbh, neighbourhood pandan waffles are one of those foods that i feel really represent singapore 🇸🇬 nothing fancy, just warm, chewy and nostalgic. really hope yall can give nimmie’s waffles a try too!!
