Some people always listen with a negative ear. They already have you pegged as an attitude problem. They already perceive you to be angry, mad, or upset. They already assume you are in a bad mood. When in actuality, you are simply minding your business and has disrupted your peace by making you out to be the bad guy. Never once do they consider themselves as being a negative thinker.

Do not allow those, nay sayers, to steal your joy.
