Obsessed when I saw these shoes and wanted them so bad… but I could not find them on authentic resale sites like goat or stockx etc.. Soooo I image reversed them and found ALOT of people selling them on Depop and Mercari for over 150 which is think is insane for a samba shoe but I still did not know if they were fake or not … comes to find out by a couple sneaker heads they are fake. These were an AI image created from someone and a manufacturer took the design and mass produced these… I still think they are cute and no matter if it’s fake or real I will eventually have my hands on these!! Just not for 150 dollars. Some fake shoe sites are selling them for 60-80 dollars so if you like them as much as I do I say get them!!!!
... Read moreIt's a wild world out there for sneaker lovers, and with so many viral designs popping up, it's getting harder to tell what's real and what's a clever copy. My recent obsession with those adorable white and pink heart pattern Sambas led me down a rabbit hole I never expected! Turns out, my dream shoes were actually an AI-generated design that manufacturers decided to mass-produce as 'fakes.' But hey, if they look good and the price is right, sometimes we make exceptions, right?
For anyone else navigating the tricky waters of sneaker authenticity, especially with popular models like the Adidas Samba, here are some tips I've picked up. Even after deciding to embrace my 'fake' heart Sambas, I still think it's super important to know what you're buying.
First off, always consider the source. If you're seeing a highly sought-after shoe pop up on unfamiliar websites or at suspiciously low prices, that should be your first red flag. Authentic Adidas Sambas are typically sold through official Adidas channels or verified retailers. For resale, platforms like Goat or StockX have authentication processes, though even they aren't 100% foolproof sometimes. My heart Sambas were nowhere to be found on these trusted sites, which was a huge clue!
Next, pay close attention to quality and detailing. Real Adidas Sambas are known for their premium materials and meticulous craftsmanship. Look at the stitching – is it uniform, tight, and free of loose threads? Fake versions often have sloppy stitching or uneven lines, especially around the three pink stripes or the toe box. The materials themselves, like the leather or suede, should feel substantial and high-quality, not cheap or flimsy.
Logos and branding are another huge giveaway. On a real Samba, the Adidas logo on the tongue (often pink with a red logo on my desired heart-patterned pair) and the branding on the heel (like the red heart logo in my case, if it were real) should be crisp, perfectly aligned, and correctly spelled. Fakes often have slight variations in font, spacing, or even color. Check the 'SAMBA' text on the side – is it clear and well-defined? The sole, often brown on a classic Samba, should have consistent texture and grip.
The shoe box and internal tags are also vital. Authentic sneakers come in sturdy, well-printed boxes with clear product information, including style codes, sizes, and barcodes that match the shoe itself. Inside, the tags should have legible printing and correct sizing information. Fakes might have flimsy boxes, blurry printing, or inconsistent tags.
Finally, trust your gut. If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. While my 'fake' pink heart Sambas were an exception for me because I loved the unique AI-generated design and they don't pretend to be an official Adidas release (they are an unofficial mass-produced design), it's generally best to be cautious. For iconic styles like the classic black and white Adidas Samba, investing in an authentic pair ensures you get the quality and longevity you expect. But for those unique, viral designs that never officially hit the market, sometimes a well-made replica, if you're aware of what you're buying, can still bring joy without breaking the bank! Just make sure you're not paying authentic prices for a replica.
It’s sooooo cute,where did u find it?
