Hey Lemon8 fam! 😊 I'm so excited to share more about my latest obsession: diving deep into the world of Poppy Playtime and Smiling Critters through my own "Actor AU" fanart! For those new to the concept, an "AU" (Alternate Universe) is basically a creative playground where fans imagine their favorite characters in totally different scenarios – like if they were all actors playing roles! It's such a fun way to explore new stories and designs for characters we adore. My original post showed some of my pencil sketches, and I wanted to give you a peek behind the curtain of my creative process. I've been spending hours bringing these characters to life, imagining them not just as monsters from the games, but as talented performers. You might have spotted some familiar faces, but also some new ones that are completely fan-made, born from my love for this universe. For example, remember those sketches of "Catnap's and Fel's Parents" or "Catnap and Dogday's Kids"? It's been an absolute blast imagining the family dynamics within this Actor AU! What if our favorite critters had their own kin, and what kind of roles would they play in the grand theatrical production of the Poppy Playtime story? I love giving these characters backstories—like "Worry Kitty" and "Lunar clips," two characters I dreamt up as potential parents for some of the Smiling Critters. It adds so much depth to their personalities when you think of them as having a life outside the factory. And then there’s "Eclips Rif" and "Dawn Pup," who I imagine as the energetic offspring of Catnap and Dogday, perhaps starring in a spin-off show within this AU! I've also sketched "Pixel Piggy Bubba and Pickys Kid," playing with the idea of expanding the Smiling Critters family even further. It's all about exploring "what if" scenarios that make these worlds even richer. When I'm drawing, I'm thinking about their costumes, their personalities on set, and even their off-screen friendships. It's not just about drawing poppy playtime 5 personajes, but about creating a whole new narrative. The beauty of fanart, especially these AUs, is that it lets us connect with the games in a whole new way. It's not about making a smiling critters tactical au necessarily, but about finding joy in reimagining characters in different lights. I've included a variety of anthropomorphic animal characters in my sketches – from deer and foxes to sharks and dragons – hinting at an even larger ensemble cast for this grand "Poppy Playtime AU" production.
