Day 2 is gonna be separated into a few parts maybe like three Idk. Just cause I really did sooo much, I didn’t want these videos to be like 10 minutes long.
from Copacabana Beach, i left at 3am to make it to Morro Dois irmaos to catch the sunrise! This is literally a whole mountain you’re trekking up! You have to go through the favelas and then it’s like 45 to 50 minutes up. I was the only person up there when I did the hike only because I got the time wrong ha ha but so so beautiful and so worth it.
I also made a short form video of this hike in the same thread so definitely check that out #rio#riodejaneiror#morrodoisirmaosl#solotravelv#favelask#hikinga#travelitinerary
If you're planning a visit to Rio de Janeiro and looking for a unique outdoor adventure, the hike to Morro Dois Irmãos (Two Brothers Hill) is an excellent choice. This popular trekking route offers spectacular panoramic views of the city and coastline, especially at sunrise around 5:50 am, when the city slowly lights up from the dawn. The trail begins near the famous Copacabana Beach, one of Rio’s iconic landmarks, and winds its way up through parts of the vibrant and densely populated favelas. While some travelers may be hesitant about venturing through favelas, many guided tours and solo trekkers find it a rich cultural experience, provided safety guidelines are followed. It’s recommended to hike during daylight or early sunrise hours and be mindful of local advice. The climb to the summit can take approximately 45 to 50 minutes depending on your pace and fitness level. The ascent involves moderately steep paths and steps that require comfortable footwear and good stamina. Early mornings, especially starting as early as 3 am, ensure you can catch the mesmerizing sunrise almost alone, giving you a peaceful and awe-inspiring moment at the top. Remember to bring essentials such as water, some light snacks, and a flashlight or headlamp for pre-dawn sections. Since it’s a popular spot, many hikers document their journey with short film clips and photos—sharing these on social media platforms with tags like #rio, #riodejaneiro, #morrodoisirmaos, #solotravel, and #hiking enhances the experience and community sharing. Overall, this trek perfectly mixes physical activity, natural beauty, and an authentic glimpse into Rio’s urban and cultural landscape, making it a must-do experience for adventurous travelers.
