💖🌕🍃Let Go of the Past Ritual 🍃🌕💖

Using the Pink Moon as a moment to pause, reflect and gently let go of what’s been weighing on me 🌸🌕

Focusing on fresh energy, new beginnings and becoming a little lighter moving forward. ✨

- Pen

- Paper

- Black candle: Banishing Negativity

- White candle: Cleansing & New Beginnings

- Blue thread: Healing

- Salt: Protection

- Fire safe tray and bowl

- Mortar

- Basil: Banishing & Prosperity

- Dandelion: Letting go

- Lemon balm: Healing

- Bowl of water

- Peach Moonstone: New Beginnings

Cleanse your area and space from any unnecessary energy.

Write down on a piece of paper what you want to let go from the past. What is holding you back? What mindset is keeping you from moving forward?

Fold the paper away from you.

Wrap your black candle and white candle together with your blue thread toward you. Since you want the healing energy to come your way.

On a fire safe tray, place your candles with some salt around it for some extra protection. Lit the candle.

🔥 Burn your paper and place it in your bowl to throughly burn.

Add the ashes of the paper, along with a small amount of basil, dandelion and lemon balm into your mortar and grind counterclockwise. (I realized that I was doing the wrong way but forgot to record my redo).

Grind into a fine powder. After a little bit of time, take some of the powder and put some into your hand.

Go outside and blow it out into the wind. Make sure it doesn’t come back into your direction.

✨The rest is optional ✨

As the candle is still burning, place a bowl of water onto your altar. I also added a little bit of my moon water. I also added the basil, dandelion and lemon balm into my water.

The Pink Moon symbolizes renewal and growth, making it an ideal time to release old energies that no longer serve you. I found that creating a sacred space, free from distractions and clutter, helps amplify the effect of the ritual. Cleansing the area with salt and lighting candles not only creates a calming atmosphere but also sets the intention for protection and new beginnings. Using specific herbs like basil for prosperity, dandelion for letting go, and lemon balm for healing enhances the process with their natural energies. Grinding these herbs with the ashes from the burned paper counterclockwise symbolizes turning away old patterns. Then, gently blowing the powdered mixture into the wind helps disperse lingering negativity—just be sure to do this in a direction where the energy flows away from you. Adding a bowl of water infused with moon water and herbs to your altar reminds me of the fluidity and cleansing power of emotions, allowing for emotional release and clarity. Including a peach moonstone focuses the energy on fresh starts and personal growth. In my experience, taking time after the ritual to journal or meditate further supports releasing lingering thoughts and welcomes a mindset shift. Rituals like this, rooted in intention and symbolic acts, can promote emotional healing and a sense of lightness that sets a positive tone for moving forward.
