You’re NOT eating breakfast oats like this!…😯🥣🫘

A savory breakfast has had me in a chokehold lately… especially these steel cut oats! 😅

If you’ve only had sweet oatmeal…you’re missing OUT.

This version is creamy, savory, high fiber, and actually keeps me so satisfied I don’t have any food noise after this!

I paired it with black beans for extra protein + gut-friendly carbs = no cravings after this 🤍

This has been my go-to Sunday reset bowl lately 🙌🏾✨

📕RECIPE:

Savory Steel Cut Oats & Black Beans 🤍

Ingredients:

• 100g steel cut oats

• 140g black beans (NOT drained)

• 2–2.5 cups bone broth

• Smoked sea salt

• Black pepper

• Garlic powder & onion powder

• Green onions (on top)

How I made it:

1. Add oats + bone broth to a pot and bring to a boil

2. Lower heat, cover & simmer ~20–25 mins (stir occasionally)

3. Season with smoked sea salt, pepper, garlic & onion powder

4. Heat black beans with the liquid for extra flavor

5. Pour beans over oats + top with green onions

6. sit and enjoy 😮‍🔥

... Read moreWhen I first switched from traditional sweet oatmeal to a savory version using steel cut oats, I was pleasantly surprised by how satisfying it was. Steel cut oats have a chewier texture and nuttier flavor than rolled oats, which makes them a great base for savory ingredients like black beans. Adding beans provides an excellent protein boost and fiber, helping to keep hunger at bay for hours. I often cook the steel cut oats in vegetable broth instead of water to infuse more savory depth. Topping the bowl with herbs, spices, and a little bit of cheese or avocado elevates the taste even more. This breakfast is a great way to keep your gut happy and reduce cravings throughout the day, as it balances carbs, protein, and fiber effectively. Making this a Sunday reset ritual helps me recalibrate my diet after a week of indulgence. The combination of whole foods supports digestion and prevents bloating, which is a common issue after heavy meals. If you’re used to having sweet oatmeal, I encourage you to try the savory approach—it’s a game changer for anyone looking for a wholesome, energizing breakfast that keeps you full longer.

I love savory oats! I make them with broth instead of water or milk. I’ll sure them with grilled or steamed veggies and an over easy egg. Love them, so delicious 🤤 ❤️
