✨ Update on Polar & Drake ✨
Many of you remember Polar, the sweet dog who was cruelly shot above Mancos, Colorado. Today, he came into our clinic alongside his loyal friend, Drake. Both boys were neutered, fully vaccinated, and dewormed. Polar’s wounds were carefully cleaned, and he is now on antibiotics and pain medication to keep him comfortable while he heals.
Despite everything they’ve been through, Polar and Drake are two of the most gentle, loving souls you could ever meet. Their resilience is incredible, and they deserve nothing but kindness from here on out. 💙
The total bill for their care today came to $810. Every bit helps us cover these lifesaving treatments so that Polar and Drake can move forward healthy and pain-free.

Together, we can show Polar and Drake that love always wins. 🐾
Polar and Drake’s story is a touching example of resilience and the importance of compassionate veterinary care. After surviving a traumatic incident, especially Polar who was cruelly shot, their recovery process involves not only physical treatment but emotional healing as well. Neutering, vaccinations, and deworming are essential to prevent future health issues, while wound cleaning, antibiotics, and pain management help handle the immediate aftermath of injury. In cases like theirs, an $810 vet bill covers critical lifesaving procedures. But beyond the medical expenses, dogs like Polar and Drake also need a nurturing environment to regain trust and build a new sense of security. Animal sanctuaries and rescue organizations play a vital role in offering this support, often relying on donations from people who care. If you’re inspired by Polar and Drake’s bravery, there are ways to contribute that go beyond financial support. Volunteering at local shelters, spreading awareness of animal cruelty, and fostering animals in need can make a huge difference. Each act of kindness helps show these dogs that love truly wins, promoting a stronger community of care for all animals who have suffered abuse or neglect. Understanding the recovery journey of dogs like Polar and Drake highlights the significance of early veterinary intervention and continued support. Their gentle and loving nature despite their hardships is a reminder of why animal welfare work is so crucial. Supporting such efforts not only changes the life of individual animals but also fosters awareness and empathy within society.
