Dear โ€œDiary,โ€

Today started with me taking care of my little nephew. I sent a pic to my husband because of a conversation we had that i completely forgot. ๐Ÿ˜… After my sister came back from her interview (sheโ€™s the babysitter; I was just there to help), I got ready and me and my husband ran errands with my mom. We ate lunch at Charleyโ€™s (no pictures; sorry!) and then we came home to take yet another satisfying nap. I took one picture of one of our cats, Penelope, because sheโ€™s too cute! I also snapped pictures of what I wrote in my actual diary (I know, I need to work on my penmanship!), and the book Iโ€™m currently reading. Hopefully Iโ€™ll get to review it as I do with all the books Iโ€™ve read/am currently reading. I have reviews in my ipad and plan to do a whole book review of the series that Iโ€™m currently reading. Reading and writing are two of my favorite hobbies and I feel like I havenโ€™t been able to do that in a while.

The second to last picture is of me reaching a new level in Candy Crush. Been playing since the early 2010s. Look at me now, 10 years later and Iโ€™m still crushing (pun intended) it!

Anyways, thatโ€™s it for today. Thank you for taking the time to read a summary of what I did today!

Sincerely,

Cristina โค๏ธ

... Read moreI'm so glad I mentioned the book I'm currently devouring! For those wondering, it's part of THE NEW YORK TIMES BEST-SELLING VILLAINS SERIES by ERENA VALENTINO. I've been hooked on this series for a while now. What I love about it is how it delves deep into the backstories of classic villains, making you see them in a completely new light. It's not just about good versus evil; it's about understanding the motivations and circumstances that shaped these iconic characters. Each book focuses on a different villain, and the storytelling is just captivating. If you're into dark fairy tales with a psychological twist, I highly recommend checking it out. It's truly a series that makes you think and often empathize with characters you thought you knew so well. Fitting in reading time, even just a few pages, is my little escape! Speaking of little escapes, can we talk about Candy Crush? It's wild to think I've been 'crushing it' for over a decade now! It's become my go-to for a quick mental break, whether I have 3 days or 5 days to wait for something or just a few minutes in between tasks. Honestly, my biggest tip for anyone still playing or thinking of starting is patience. Don't rush levels; really look for those combos. And those special candies? Learn to make them strategically! The thrill of finally beating a tough level, like when I saw numbers like 460 and 459 disappear, is just so satisfying. Itโ€™s more than just a game; itโ€™s a little brain puzzle that keeps you sharp. Seeing my messy penmanship in my actual diary reminded me how much I cherish having a physical journal. There's something so therapeutic about putting thoughts onto paper. It doesn't have to be perfect or even legible to anyone else! For anyone wanting to start, just grab a notebook and a pen. Don't overthink it. It's a space for your thoughts, feelings, and everyday moments. Sometimes I just jot down bullet points, other times it's a full-blown reflection. It's amazing to look back and see how far you've come or remember little details you might have forgotten. It's a fantastic way to practice mindfulness and gratitude. Even though I rated Charley's Philly Cheesesteak a 5/10, it definitely hit the spot for a quick lunch. My main takeaway is that while it delivers on the classic flavors, it didn't quite have that 'wow' factor. The cheese melted perfectly, and the bread was decent, but I felt it could use a bit more seasoning in the meat or perhaps a more distinct blend of cheeses to really elevate it. It's a solid choice if you're in the area and craving a Philly, but if you're looking for an unforgettable experience, you might want to explore other options. Still, sometimes a straightforward, no-frills cheesesteak is exactly what you need after running errands!
