Easy heart pizzas
If you need any last minute ideas for today or this week for Valentine’s Day dinner.
Our attempt at heart pizzas 😂 but they were sooo good and everything was super easy to put together and just pick up at Trader Joe’s or really any grocery store. We baked them in the oven on parchment paper and they didn’t stick at all.
I think also it’d be fun and better to make more little cut out heart pizzas rather than a few big ones.

Making heart-shaped pizzas for Valentine's Day was such a hit, and honestly, it’s much easier than you might think, especially with a little help from Trader Joe's! I wanted to share a few more tips and details on how I put mine together, and some ideas to make yours extra special. First off, let's talk about the star ingredients. For the cheese, I swear by Trader Joe's Fresh Mozzarella Log. It's miles better than pre-shredded cheese for that perfect gooey melt. You can either slice it thinly or tear off small pieces to dot over your pizza. If you're pressed for time, they sometimes have Trader Joe's sliced mozzarella cheese or even smaller, ready-to-use mozzarella slices which are also fantastic. The key is fresh mozzarella! And for toppings, we went with Applegate Turkey Uncured Pepperoni – it crisps up beautifully in the oven without being too greasy. Trader Joe's also has great ready-to-bake pizza dough, which is a massive time-saver. Now, for the fun part: shaping those adorable hearts! If you're wondering how to make pizza dough into a heart, it's pretty simple. Start by rolling out your dough into a rough circle or oval. Then, using a sharp knife or even kitchen shears, you can cut a "V" shape at the top center of your circle and then round off the bottom edges to form the point of the heart. Another trick, especially if you want smaller, uniform hearts, is to use a large heart-shaped cookie cutter. Roll out your dough, cut out the shapes, and then transfer them directly to your parchment-lined baking sheet. This is what I meant by making more little cut-out heart pizzas – they look so charming! Seeing the heart shaped pizza dough before baking is already half the fun! Once your dough is shaped, spread a thin layer of your favorite pizza sauce, leaving a small border for the crust. Then comes the cheese – don't be shy with that fresh mozzarella! Arrange your pepperoni or other toppings. For a truly Valentine's vibe, you can even cut some of your pepperoni or bell peppers into tiny hearts using a smaller cookie cutter. Baking is straightforward. I always preheat my oven to about 400-425°F (200-220°C). Place your pizzas on parchment paper on a baking sheet. Parchment paper is a lifesaver – no sticking, and easy cleanup! Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned in spots. This whole process is not just about the food; it's about creating a fun memory. It's a wonderful activity to do with a partner, kids, or even just for a little self-love dinner. And the best part? It tastes amazing, and you get to enjoy a delicious, homemade meal that looks like it took a lot more effort than it actually did! Give it a try – you won't regret it!
