warmup sketch + update

warmup Daily from today. website is called sketchDaily.

update: hi, it's been a bite since the last post. I tried the 21 posting challenge or whatever it was called. I did complete the challenge, but I feel that someday I just post just to post, and I don't want to do that. so I might not post every day but will post as much as I can, and I know a lot of people like my daily sketch. plus it will get me to do more warm up.

... Read moreAs an artist, I've found that consistent practice is the real secret sauce, and daily warm-ups are at the core of that. I've been diving into SketchDaily.com, a fantastic reference website that's become a staple in my routine. It's not just about drawing; it's about training your eye and hand, and sites like SketchDaily offer an incredible array of poses reference to get those creative juices flowing. For those unfamiliar, SketchDaily is a brilliant resource, especially for quick gestural sketches. It presents you with timed drawing challenges, often featuring a variety of figure poses. You can set the timer for short bursts – 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes – which is perfect for loosening up and focusing on the core form and movement rather than getting caught up in details. I often use it to challenge myself to capture the 'flowing form' of a figure in just moments, much like that gestural pencil sketch of a standing female figure with long hair and arms raised that I did recently. It's amazing how much you can learn about proportion and gesture by rapidly sketching different poses. Beyond just the warm-up aspect, SketchDaily also serves as an excellent reference site for more prolonged studies. When I'm working on a piece that requires a specific stance or expression, I can browse their extensive library. Finding the right reference photo, like one showing a person with white lilies, can truly elevate a sketch from good to great. It helps me understand how light falls, how fabrics drape, and the subtle nuances of human anatomy. These pose references are invaluable for ensuring your art looks natural and dynamic. My personal journey has taught me that it's not always about posting every single day, as I tried with that 21-day challenge. Sometimes, you just need to focus on the practice itself. What truly matters is showing up for your art, even if it's just for a 10-minute warmup. I've learned to value quality over sheer quantity in sharing my work. This approach has actually made my daily sketch sessions more enjoyable and less pressured. It allows me to experiment more, to truly absorb what I'm learning from each reference, and to improve at my own pace. So, if you're looking to boost your art skills, I highly recommend incorporating daily warm-ups with resources like SketchDaily. Explore different pose references, don't be afraid to make 'ugly' sketches – they're all part of the learning process! It truly helps to keep that creative momentum going and ensures your art journey is both productive and fulfilling.

Dynamic Warmup for an Intense Leg Day🍑🍑
I cannot stress this enough, please do a dynamic warm up before you lift heavy. It prepares and oils up those muscles and joints to be able to support heavy weight through full range of motion. Try not to do any static stretches before your workout. Static stretches are stretches held for 30-60

Here are three interesting reasons to warm up before a workout: 1. **Prevents Injuries**: Warming up increases blood flow to your muscles, improving flexibility and reducing the risk of strains, sprains, and other injuries during intense exercise. 2. **Boosts Performance**: A proper warm-up p
