LIFE BEFORE MY APARTMENT BURNED DOWN

some more pics from my apartment before the fire. The things I miss the most are decorating, baking, and having my own space to make mine.

It’s been a crazy rollercoaster of a year but everything happens for a reason. Even though the place doesn’t exist anymore, it’s still real in my memories.

Until next time:)

... Read moreLiving through the loss of an apartment to fire is an experience that is both heartbreaking and transformative. Before the fire, I found so much joy in the small things—baking banana muffins, throwing festive Halloween parties complete with a potion bar and plenty of snacks, and curating my space with furniture I handpicked and treasured. The windows that let in light, the cozy bedroom—even the stolen bed became a part of my story. Decorating wasn’t just about making the place look nice; it was about creating a sanctuary where I could express myself freely. That personal touch made the apartment truly mine. When the fire started next door and eventually consumed my home, it felt like a sudden rupture, but I also learned the importance of cherishing what you have while you have it. Firefighters had to break the window during the incident, and I remember feeling a mix of helplessness and gratitude. Despite losing the physical space, the memories remain vivid. Holding on to these moments has helped me cope and find purpose in moving forward. From my experience, I’ve realized the value of resilience and community—sharing my story with others who have faced similar challenges brings comfort and connection. For anyone dealing with a similar loss, I encourage you to focus on the memories that no fire can destroy, find joy in small moments, and never underestimate the healing power of creativity. Life might take unexpected turns, but the essence of your home—the love, warmth, and personal touch—lives on in your memories and your heart.
