1/10 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! I wanted to share a deeper dive into my personal journey with therianthropy and fictionkinning, as it's a path of self-discovery that many might be curious about. For those new to these terms, therianthropy is when someone identifies as a non-human animal, spiritually or psychologically, while fictionkinning means identifying as a fictional character or species. It’s a profound connection that goes beyond just liking an animal or character; it's about an intrinsic sense of self. My primary identity is as a Fox therian, specifically a red fox theriotype. It's not just about a preference; it's a deep-seated feeling of connection to the fox essence. For me, this manifests in various ways, such as experiencing strong biting urges—not in an aggressive way, but more like a playful, instinctual need, similar to how a fox might interact. I also find myself doing quads (moving on all fours) naturally at times, and there's a strong desire to play with my cats in a way that mimics how foxes interact with their own kind. It's a fundamental part of my being, and I often feel a strong spiritual or psychological tie to the wilderness and the cunning, yet gentle, nature of a fox. Sometimes, I even feel a mental shift, where my thoughts and perceptions align more closely with those of a fox. The imagery of a fluffy fox tail or the focus on a sleeping fox's face, as seen in some art, really resonates with my aesthetic as a fox therian. Then there's my Yarnaby fictionkin identity. This is a fascinating aspect of my self-discovery. Yarnaby isn't just a character I admire; I feel an intrinsic connection to its essence. The imagery of colorful, monstrous characters, sometimes with elements like Nyan Cat or 'THE HOUR OF JOY' and 'Clown License' text, really captures the vibrant, chaotic, and unique energy of Yarnaby. For me, kinning Yarnaby involves similar physical urges like attempts at biting (again, playfully!) and quads, but also distinct mental shifts that align with Yarnaby's personality and traits. It's about embodying that specific kind of energy and finding common ground with a character that feels like a part of my soul. I also identify as The Ghoul fictionkin. This connection is to Cooper Howard from *Fallout*. It's a slightly different experience, often manifesting in physical sensations like a violent cough, much like he does without his vials. There’s also a shared wit and a certain resilience I feel attuned to. The post-apocalyptic aesthetic, the 'Vault-Tec' logo, and the 'Welcome to New Vegas' signs, all resonate deeply, reflecting a part of my identity that connects with his journey and experiences. Understanding these multiple identities isn't a competition, but rather a personal journey of validation and self-acceptance. It’s about recognizing and embracing these intrinsic parts of myself, rather than trying to fit into a mold. There's no 'right' or 'wrong' way to be a therian or fictionkin; it's about what feels authentic to *you*. Connecting with communities and finding others who share similar experiences has been incredibly validating. It’s about building a supportive environment where everyone can explore and express their unique identities without judgment. My journey has been one of continuous learning and deep personal growth, and I’m always discovering new facets of what it means to be me.
