Duh. Imma be fat for a very long time - doesn’t mean the changes I’ve made aren’t “working”.
And by “working” I just mean it’s improving my health. This might be confusing or an uncommon way to think about it, but idc what my body does. My goal is not to lose a specific amount of weight or even track it for that matter. I’m using physical fitness and bloodwork to track my progress 💞
In today's health landscape, it's essential to shift our focus from traditional weight loss metrics to a broader understanding of health. Many individuals face undue pressure to conform to societal standards of body image, often leading to discouragement. Emphasizing markers like A1C levels, which indicate blood sugar control, can be a much more telling sign of one's health journey. For those with concerns about type 2 diabetes or other metabolic disorders, medications like Mounjaro have been shown to assist with blood sugar management. However, it's crucial to recognize that weight should not be the sole measure of success. Engagement in physical activity, following a balanced diet, and having regular blood tests provide a more comprehensive view of health progress. Further, fostering a supportive community around fitness can empower individuals to celebrate all forms of progress, including improved lab results or increased stamina, regardless of weight change. This holistic approach to health encourages individuals to prioritize their well-being over arbitrary weight goals, ultimately leading to more sustainable lifestyles. Focus on positivity and measurement-oriented improvements can fundamentally change how we perceive success in health and fitness.
