Sore throat, swollen balls in the neck😩
It can cause multiple causes, lymph node, tonsil, or even salivary glands, but let's simplify this.
1.Lymph nodes
• Often on the side of the neck, under the jaw, or near the ear.
• When there is an infection such as the flu or a bacterial infection, it will swell into a round, soft or moderately hard nodule.
• Sometimes the lump moves.
2. Tonsils
• Behind the neck, on both sides of the oral cavity
• If the tonsils are swollen, they are usually red, white or pus on the tonsils.
• Will hurt when swallowing food or sore throat
3. Salivary glands
• There are many points, such as the side of the jaw, under the chin.
• The swelling is usually a tight lump, hurt or not.
• If clogged or inflamed, it hurts when eating or chewing.
💡 Simple remarks:
• The nodules are lateral to the neck / under the jaw, slightly moved = lymph nodes
• Lumps behind the neck, near the throat, red / pus visible = tonsils
• Lumps under chin / jaw, pain when chewing = salivary glands

นอกจากสาเหตุหลักที่กล่าวถึงแล้ว อาการก้อนแข็งที่คอมักจะสร้างความกังวลใจไม่น้อย โดยเฉพาะในเด็กที่อาจพบก้อนบวมที่ข้างคอร่วมกับอาการเจ็บคอและมีไข้ เมื่อพบก้อนแข็งบริเวณคอที่มีลักษณะเคลื่อนเลื่อนได้เล็กน้อยและเจ็บเมื่อกด อาจจะมาจากการติดเชื้อต่อมน้ำเหลืองซึ่งร่างกายกำลังต่อสู้กับเชื้อโรคอยู่ ส่วนต่อมทอนซิลที่บวมแดงหรือมีหนองบริเวณนั้น มักสัมพันธ์กับอาการเจ็บคอและกลืนลำบาก ซึ่งพบได้ในผู้ที่มีทอนซิลอักเสบบ่อยๆ สำหรับก้อนบริเวณใต้คางหรือข้างกราม หากมีอาการเจ็บเมื่อเคี้ยว อาจเกิดจากปัญหาต่อมน้ำลายอุดตันหรืออักเสบ ที่เคยประสบมาคือช่วงที่เจ็บคอและรู้สึกมีก้อนแข็งๆ ที่คอ มักจะหมั่นเช็ดล้างคอ และกินน้ำเกลือบ่อยๆ ช่วยลดอาการบวมและทำให้รู้สึกดีขึ้น หากมีอาการรุนแรงหรือก้อนไม่ยุบ ควรรีบพบแพทย์เพื่อประเมินและรักษาอย่างเหมาะสม สุดท้าย อย่าลืมสังเกตก้อนที่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงขนาดหรือรูปร่างอย่างรวดเร็ว รวมถึงอาการไข้สูงร่วมกับความเจ็บปวดที่เพิ่มขึ้น เพราะอาจจำเป็นต้องเข้ารับการตรวจละเอียด เช่น อัลตราซาวด์หรือการเจาะตรวจเพื่อวินิจฉัยที่ชัดเจนค่ะ
