‼️How to acrylic pour🎨

One of my favorite art forms is an acrylic pour! The designs always come out super unique.

What you’ll need:

1. Plastic cups

2. Dish soap/paint thinner

3. Acrylic paint

4. Wire rack

Take one part soap/thinner and mix with two parts acrylic paint. Should be thinner after mixing.

Then, pour whatever paints you want into a cup. Try to make them layered for a better effect.

Next part is kinda tricky and comes with practice…put the cup on the canvas and FLIP.

Now, lift the cup and move the paint around the canvas. Once you’re satisfied with the design, set it on a wire rack to dry. Make sure you have something under the wire rack to catch the excess paint. Happy pouring!

... Read moreAcrylic pouring is a captivating art form that allows artists of all skill levels to create mesmerizing fluid artworks characterized by vibrant colors and organic patterns. The technique involves mixing acrylic paints with a thinner, such as dish soap or paint thinner, to achieve the perfect consistency for pouring and spreading on canvas. To enhance your acrylic pour experience, consider using high-quality, fluid acrylic paints designed for pouring, which help achieve smoother flows and more vibrant effects. Layering multiple paint colors in the plastic cup before pouring creates intricate patterns once flipped onto the canvas. Experimenting with different pouring techniques, such as the flip cup, dirty pour, or swipe method, can result in varied and exciting visual outcomes. After pouring and manipulating the paint on the canvas, placing the artwork on a wire rack allows for proper airflow during drying, preventing smudges. It is crucial to protect surfaces beneath the rack to catch excessive dripping paint. Furthermore, acrylic pouring can be combined with mediums like silicone oil or pouring mediums to create cells—unique bubbles and patterns that add depth and complexity to the art piece. Patience and practice are key, as controlling the flow and tilt of the canvas influences the final design. This art form fosters creativity and relaxation, making it an excellent DIY project. Whether you're creating abstract designs or experimenting with color theory, acrylic pouring offers endless possibilities for artistic expression.
