🫧Hey Derms! Anything I can do??🧼
Currently I use two cleaners in the shower, Cetaphil and Cerave (both say Derm recommended!!) one out of the shower (my Noxema pads), and then a moisturizer before I go to bed (cerave nightly moisturizer). Should I be cleaning my face more? Less?
Any recommendations on how to switch up my routine for my oily/combination skin?
Need help because I keep getting so many pimples on my forehead and bumps on my chin!

Hi there, dermatologist here! I don’t think the issue is that you’re not cleansing enough. In fact, using multiple cleansers and acne pads can sometimes irritate the skin without treating the acne. Forehead pimples and chin bumps are often caused by clogged pores, excess oil production, hormones, or even hair products that come into contact with the skin. For oily/combination skin, I usually recommend keeping the routine simple: a gentle cleanser twice daily, a non-comedogenic moisturizer, daily sunscreen, and an acne-fighting ingredient such as salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, or a retinoid, depending on the type and severity of the acne. If the bumps on your forehead and chin are persistent despite a consistent routine, it may be worth seeing a dermatologist, as treatment often depends on whether they’re true acne, clogged pores, or another condition altogether. Bottom line: I would focus less on cleansing more often and more on incorporating proven acne treatments into a simple, consistent routine. Hope this helps! Not medical advice ❤️😉
