Claimed by the Mountain Man
⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars
Montana Mountain Men book number 4 – Gemma Weir
This is the fourth book in the Montana Mountain Man series and follows Penn and Lulu. Lulu has just moved from Chicago to small-town Montana to live with her godmother Chloe, and on her very first day at her new job she quite literally runs into Penn.
Like his brothers before him, Penn is instantly obsessed. It’s love at first sight, extremely possessive energy, and he’s already calling Lulu his. If you enjoy over-the-top mountain men who fall hard and fast, this definitely delivers.
There were a couple of surprises I didn’t see coming, which was a nice change of pace and kept the story moving. Overall, this was a quick, easy read that I enjoyed but it wasn’t my favorite mountain man romance.
That said, I’ll absolutely continue the series. I’ve grown really fond of this family and I’m invested in seeing each brother find his woman.

If you're a fan of the mountain man romance genre, you'll appreciate how Gemma Weir's 'Claimed by the Mountain Man' weaves classic elements of passionate and possessive love into a small-town Montana backdrop. From my experience reading this book, the vivid depiction of Penn’s immediate and overpowering attraction to Lulu offers a raw look into the intensity often found in this niche romance. The fact that Lulu moves from Chicago to Montana adds an intriguing angle of contrast—highlighting both cultural and emotional shifts that bring depth to her character. What stood out to me was the way the story handled the trope of instalove with surprisingly nuanced character reactions and unexpected plot twists that kept the narrative engaging without feeling overly predictable. Although the possessiveness and controlling behavior of Penn may feel intense for some readers, these traits are quite common and often sought after in mountain man romances, making the book a solid choice for fans of the genre. Additionally, the portrayal of family dynamics within the Montana Mountain Men series adds a layer of warmth, as readers witness each brother's journey to find love. This connected storytelling creates investment beyond just one couple’s story. For those who enjoy exploring small-town romance, this installment delivers the cozy, rustic vibe that complements the intense romance. The trigger warnings included are important to consider, especially if you prefer romance without elements of obsession or explicit content. Overall, this book is a quick, easy read that caters well to readers who love high-stakes emotional connection and dramatic romantic tension. If you’re invested in the Montana Mountain Men series, this fourth book offers satisfying continuity and exciting developments to look forward to.
