It seems like everyone is either too busy, too inconsistent, or just not genuinely interested in building meaningful connections. From my experience, one reason the dating scene feels so difficult is the high expectations set by social media and dating apps, which often highlight only the best moments, making real-life interactions feel underwhelming in comparison. Another factor is communication challenges. Many people struggle to express their true feelings or intentions early on, which leads to mixed signals and confusion. This ambiguity can make it exhausting to invest time and energy into someone who might not be on the same page. Also, the abundance of options sometimes leads to a paradox of choice — ironically making it harder to settle on one person or commitment because there's always the thought that someone else might be better or more exciting. Despite these hurdles, I find it helpful to focus on authenticity and patience. Being honest about what you want and giving yourself and others time to show their true colors tends to filter out many of the frustrations. Connecting with friends and sharing experiences about the dating challenges can also provide support and new perspectives. In summary, while the dating pool can feel 'trash,' approaching it with a real, open attitude and grounded expectations can make the journey a bit more manageable and even rewarding.
