Support $5 Friday at the sanctuary and help us continue our mission
Dear Virgil, I remember, so clearly, the first moment I laid eyes on you. You were tied to the infamous back post at a high volume livestock auction. There were 3 kill buyers in the stands. I clocked them as soon as I got there. You looked so defeated. You didn’t seem scared — just done. Like you had given up. Your gentle spirit was so obvious to me, even in that setting, and I didn’t even know you yet. I wasn’t at the auction with the of rescuing anyone that day but I knew I couldn’t leave you there. Today, when I see you enjoying the warmth of the sun, munching on treats and getting scritches, I am confident that your destiny has been here with us, in sanctuary, all along. We all love you so much. ❤️❤️❤️ Virgil’s arthritis has been bothering him lately, which is why he is in the indoor. We are monitoring him and experimenting with some new medication to help him feel more comfortable. Years of being forced to work in fields really does so much damage to the body. In order to continue our mission here at Rancho Relaxo, we need more monthly donors. Please consider becoming a consistent contributor by clicking the link in @hispees bio. Thank you all in advance. We couldn’t do this without you. #animalrescue #animallovers #horses #draftmule #farmsanctuary
Supporting animal sanctuaries can feel incredibly rewarding, especially when you understand the tangible difference your donations make in animals’ lives. For example, Virgil, a draft mule rescued from harsh working conditions, now spends his days enjoying sunlight and treats rather than toil and neglect. Yet, years of hard labor left Virgil with arthritis, requiring ongoing care including medications and indoor shelter for comfort. Small donations like those from the $5 Friday campaign power this compassionate care. Skipping a daily luxury, such as coffee, and donating just five dollars each week aggregates to a substantial contribution that funds food, veterinary bills, and medication for animals in need. It also promotes sustainable sanctuary operations and ensures ongoing rescue efforts. From personal experience volunteering at animal sanctuaries, I’ve observed how collective small acts can bring about big transformations. Every dollar feels like a seed planted in hope, nurturing the health and happiness of animals who have endured trauma. By becoming a monthly donor, you provide sanctuary teams with dependable resources to plan and adapt treatments for animals like Virgil, who might need new medications or special accommodations due to their histories. More donors mean less uncertainty and better lives for these gentle creatures. If you're passionate about animal welfare, consider how easy it is to make a life-changing difference through $5 Friday. Your small kindness creates a ripple effect that provides rescued animals a second chance to live safely and happily. Support Rancho Relaxo Sanctuary with your consistent contribution and become part of a community that values compassion, healing, and hope for all animals.
