The Business…. Part 2
Vaughn walked back into the apartment slowly, shaking his head as he grabbed Felicia’s wine bottle from the table.
“I definitely need a refill,” he muttered.
Felicia quickly shut the door behind Calvin and Travis before the whole hallway got a front-row seat to the drama.
“Okay,” she said, pointing toward the couch. “Everybody sit down before somebody starts throwing hands.”
Calvin and Travis sat awkwardly on the opposite end of the couch. The tension between them was thick enough to cut with a knife.
Vaughn poured himself a generous glass of Roscato and sat down across from them.
Felicia remained standing with her arms folded.
“Alright,” she said. “Explain.”
Calvin looked at Vaughn first.
“I didn’t come here to argue.”
Vaughn took a slow sip of wine.
“That’s funny,” he replied. “Because you showed up beating on the door like the FBI.”
Travis leaned forward nervously.
“Look… we should’ve told you sooner.”
Vaughn raised an eyebrow.
“Told me what? That my boyfriend and my coworker were having secret sleepovers?”
Calvin ran a hand over his face.
“It wasn’t like that.”
Vaughn laughed sharply.
“Oh really? So how was it?”
Silence filled the room.
Felicia quietly sat down beside Vaughn, watching everything like she was at the movies.
Travis finally spoke.
“We didn’t plan it.”
Vaughn tilted his head.
“So the pants just fell off by accident?”
Felicia tried not to laugh but failed, covering her mouth.
“Sorry,” she whispered.
Calvin shot Travis a look.
“Let me talk.”
He turned back toward Vaughn.
“It happened one night after work. We went out for drinks.”
Vaughn rolled his eyes.
“Classic.”
“We were drunk,” Calvin continued. “Things got… confusing.”
Vaughn’s expression hardened.
“Confusing?” he repeated.
Calvin nodded slowly.
“I’ve been questioning things for a while.”
The room went quiet.
Felicia looked between them carefully.
Vaughn leaned back in his chair, studying Calvin’s face.
“So you slept with Travis to figure out if you like men?”
Calvin didn’t answer.
That silence was enough.
Vaughn laughed bitterly.
“Oh wow.”
Travis looked miserable.
“I never meant to hurt you,” he said quietly.
Vaughn turned to him sharply.
“You knew we were together.”
Travis nodded, ashamed.
“I know.”
Felicia sighed.
“Y’all are a mess,” she muttered.
Calvin leaned forward.
“I didn’t want you to find out like this.”
Vaughn pointed his glass toward him.
“You mean after you already did it.”
Another silence fell over the room.
Then suddenly—
Felicia’s front door handle started jiggling.
Everyone froze.
Felicia frowned.
“What the—”
The door suddenly swung open.
Standing there was Antonio Felicia’s boyfriend, still in his work uniform.
He stopped dead in the doorway.
Four people sitting in the living room.
Wine glasses everywhere.
Lingerie tossed over the arm of the chair.
Antonio slowly looked around the room.
His eyes landed on Vaughn.
Then Calvin.
Then Travis.
Then Felicia… in her robe.
His eyebrow lifted slowly.
“…What the hell ? What kind of meeting is this?” he asked.
Vaughn walked back into the apartment slowly, shaking his head as he grabbed Felicia’s wine bottle from the table.
“I definitely need a refill,” he muttered.

Another silence fell over the room.
Then suddenly—
Felicia’s front door handle started jiggling.
Everyone froze.
Felicia frowned.
“What the—”
The door suddenly swung open.
Standing there was Marcus, Felicia’s boyfriend, still in his work uniform.
He stopped dead in the doorway.
Four people sitting in the living room.
Wine glasses everywhere.
Lingerie tossed over the arm of the chair.
Marcus slowly looked around the room.
His eyes landed on Vaughn.
Then Calvin.
Then Travis.
Then Felicia… in her robe.
His eyebrow lifted slowly.
“…What kinda meeting…. Is this”?!
Felicia jumped up quickly.
“Baby! You’re home early,” she said nervously.
Antonio raised an eyebrow.
“Clearly.”
His gaze shifted to Vaughn.
“You drinking my Roscato?”
Vaughn slowly lifted the glass and took another sip.
“…Yes,” he said casually.
Antonio blinked once, clearly trying to process what he walked into.
“Why is everybody here?” he asked.
Felicia opened her mouth to answer but paused.
Because honestly… she didn’t even know where to start.
Vaughn suddenly clapped his hands together.
“Alright!” he said loudly. “Since we’re all gathered, we might as well bring Antonio up to speed.”
Felicia pointed at him.
“Don’t you start.”
But Vaughn was already leaning forward.
“Calvin cheated on me,” he said bluntly.
Antonio frowned.
“With who?”
Vaughn slowly turned his head and pointed.
“…Travis.”
Antonio looked at Travis.
Then Calvin.
Then back at Travis again.
“…From your job?” he asked Felicia.
Felicia nodded slowly.
Antonio rubbed his forehead.
“So let me get this straight,” he said calmly. “Calvin and Vaughn are together…”
Vaughn lifted his finger.
“Were.”
Antonio nodded.
“Okay. Were together. And Calvin slept with Travis.”
Calvin sighed deeply.
“Yes.”
Antonio looked at Travis.
“You knew he had a boyfriend?”
Travis looked down at the floor.
“…Yes.”
Antonio stared at the ceiling for a second like he was asking God for patience.
Felicia walked over and wrapped her arms around him from the side.
“I swear this just happened like ten minutes ago,” she said.
Antonio looked down at her.
“You were dancing in lingerie ten minutes ago,” he replied.
Felicia froze.
Vaughn burst out laughing.
“Oh she was definitely having a solo concert when I showed up,” he said.
Felicia whipped her head toward him.
“Vaughn!”
Antonio slowly looked back at Felicia.
She shrugged awkwardly.
“I was bored…”
Antonio sighed and walked over to the couch, sitting down heavily.
“Well,” he muttered, “this is the weirdest Tuesday night I’ve had in a while.”
The room went quiet for a moment.
Then Calvin stood up suddenly.
“I didn’t come here to embarrass Vaughn,” he said.
Vaughn scoffed.
“Too late.”
Calvin ignored the comment.
“I came to apologize.”
Vaughn looked up at him slowly.
Calvin continued.
“I know I messed up.”
Travis stood up beside him.
“And I did too.”
Antonio leaned back watching everything unfold.
Felicia whispered to him, “This is better than TV.”
Antonio shook his head.
“You’re enjoying this too much.”
Before anyone could respond—
There was another knock at the door.
Everyone looked at it.
Felicia frowned.
“Now who the hell is that?”
Antonio stood up.
“I got it.”
He walked to the door and opened it.
Standing there was a woman none of them recognized.
She looked irritated.
Her eyes immediately locked onto Travis.
“There you are,” she snapped.
Travis’ face instantly turned pale.
Antonio looked between them.
“…You know her?”
The woman stepped inside and pointed directly at Travis.
“Oh he knows me,” she said.
Then she said something that made the entire room freeze.
“I’m his wife.”
Felicia stood frozen in the living room, her hand covering her mouth in pure shock.
She slowly turned her head toward Antonio and silently mouthed, “Wife?”
Antonio’s eyebrows shot up.
Across the room, Calvin looked like the air had been sucked out of his lungs. Travis’ face had turned completely pale.
Before anyone could even process what had just been said—
Vaughn grabbed his jacket off the chair.
“Oh hell no,” he muttered.
Felicia turned quickly.
“Vaughn—”
But he was already storming toward the door.
“Vaughn wait!” she called.
The door slammed before she could reach him.
The entire apartment fell into a tense silence.
Travis’ wife folded her arms and looked directly at him.
“So this is what you’ve been doing after ‘late shifts’?” she said coldly.
Travis couldn’t even look at her.
“Danielle… I can explain.”
Danielle laughed harshly.
“Explain what? That you’ve been sleeping with men behind my back?”
Calvin slowly stepped away from Travis like the truth had physically pushed him.
“Married?” Calvin asked quietly.
Travis rubbed his face, completely cornered.
“I was going to tell you.”
Calvin scoffed.
“When? After the honeymoon?”
Antonio shook his head slowly, clearly disgusted.
Felicia wasn’t even listening anymore.
Her mind was on Vaughn.
She quickly walked down the hallway into her bedroom and grabbed her phone, dialing him immediately.
It rang once.
Then straight to voicemail.
Felicia frowned and tried again.
Voicemail.
Again.
Voicemail.
She sighed deeply and sat on the edge of the bed.
“Damn it, Vaughn…”
She couldn’t even blame him for leaving. The night had turned into something worse than messy.
First he finds out his boyfriend cheated.
Then he finds out the guy his boyfriend cheated with is married.
Felicia shook her head.
“Yeah… he done for tonight,” she muttered to herself.
Out in the living room, voices had started raising again.
Danielle was yelling now.
“You embarrassed me! Do you know how stupid I look right now?!”
Travis tried to calm her down.
“Please, let’s talk outside.”
“Oh now you wanna talk outside?” she snapped.
Calvin grabbed his keys from the table angrily.
“I’m out,” he said.
Antonio looked at him.
“Probably a good idea.”
Calvin stopped at the door and glanced down the hallway where Felicia had disappeared.
“Tell Vaughn… I really am sorry,” he said quietly.
Antonio didn’t respond.
Calvin left.
The door closed behind him.
Inside the bedroom, Felicia stared down at her phone one last time.
Still no answer.
She sighed and texted him:
“I know you’re hurt. Just let me know you made it home safe.”
Then she set the phone down.
Because deep down she knew—
Vaughn wasn’t answering anyone tonight.
He was somewhere trying to process the fact that the man he loved had turned out to be a liar wrapped in another lie.
This story vividly captures the messy complexity of relationships, especially when intertwined with work and personal lives. From experience, such situations are often laden with unexpected revelations that can shake the core of everyone involved. The dynamic between Vaughn, Calvin, Travis, and Felicia reflects the fragile balance of trust and emotions that can exist among friends and lovers. It’s common for feelings of confusion and betrayal to surface when boundaries blur, such as when coworkers become involved romantically. This tale also highlights how alcohol and late nights can fuel decisions that bring long-hidden truths into the spotlight. In real life, navigating such revelations requires patience and communication. One major takeaway is the importance of honesty early on to prevent compounding hurt later. Vaughn’s struggle to reconcile Calvin’s betrayal while facing Travis' secret adds depth to the narrative, illustrating how self-discovery and identity questioning can complicate existing relationships. The surprise arrival of Antonio and Danielle, who are both Felicia’s and Travis' partners respectively, injects additional tension and realism, showing how interconnected lives can become in a shared social or work environment. Moreover, this story resonates with anyone familiar with modern relationship challenges, including LGBTQ+ dynamics, where societal pressures and personal acceptance further influence relationship complexities. The raw emotions, awkward confrontations, and fractured apologies mirror true-to-life reactions in these situations. The story’s use of humor, like Felicia’s attempts to ease tension and Vaughn's sarcasm about 'pants just falling off,' adds relatability and balances intensity. Ultimately, this narrative reinforces that even the most tangled emotional webs can lead to growth if approached with empathy and reflection. Sharing experiences like these in UGC platforms can encourage greater understanding of the challenges many face behind closed doors, reminding us all of the humanity in mistakes and the hope in forgiveness.
