RIVALRY LAST SUPPER…. FINAL BOOK

Anjelys sat in the back of a black Suburban, half paying attention until the news channel caught her eye. The anchors were speaking on the unresolved deaths connected to Elliot and Sebastian. Detectives were circling close, convinced somebody was behind it all, but they still couldn’t piece it together.

They had suspicions, but they had nothing solid on Trey. No proof. No witnesses. No evidence. Just bodies and questions nobody could answer.

Meanwhile, Trey was at home with Zaire and their son, Cairo. The atmosphere inside the house was calm, but his mind wasn’t. He had been thinking heavy lately, and the more the news kept talking, the more he knew it was time to make another move.

He looked over at Zaire, who was sitting comfortably with Cairo nearby, and finally spoke.

“Babe… I think we should move again.”

Zaire looked at him like he had lost his mind.

“Babe, we just moved and you wanna move again?”

Trey let out a breath and leaned back.

“You don’t think this place too quiet for us and Cairo?”

She frowned, confused. “Too quiet?”

Trey shook his head.

“Nah. I’m talking bigger. Better. Somewhere else. L.A… Houston even.”

Zaire raised an eyebrow.

“L.A.? Houston? For what?”

“Houses bigger out there,” Trey said, watching her reaction. “More space. More privacy. You don’t want something bigger?”

A slow smile spread across her lips. She bit down on the bottom of it and looked him dead in his eyes.

“I already got something bigger.”

For the first time all day, Trey cracked a real smile.

The detectives kept trying to connect Trey to the crimes, but every lead they chased ended the same way—nothing. No evidence. No witnesses. No fingerprints. Just assumptions and dead ends.

It frustrated them more than they cared to admit. They knew Trey was involved somehow. Too many bodies had dropped around him for it to be coincidence, but knowing and proving were two different things. And Trey had mastered the art of leaving no trace.

Still, life moved on.

Despite everything happening around them, Trey and Zaire made the move. This time, it was bigger. Better. A house far from the noise, tucked away enough to feel private but luxurious enough to make the move worth it.

The moment Zaire stepped inside, she was in love.

Her heels clicked softly across the floor as she looked around, taking in the high ceilings, oversized windows, and open space that felt almost too perfect. She smiled to herself, already picturing family dinners, Cairo running through the halls, and quiet nights wrapped up in Trey.

“This is nice,” she said, trying not to sound too excited.

Trey watched her carefully, his expression unreadable.

“You like it?”

Zaire turned to him with a grin.

“Like it? Baby, I love it.”

For the first time in days, Trey felt like maybe he had made the right decision. Maybe distance, money, and a new location really could buy peace.

But peace never lasted long around Trey.

Anjelys had thought about warning him more than once. Every time the news came on, every time another detective got too close, every time she heard his name whispered in rooms it didn’t belong in, her chest tightened.

She wanted to reach out. Wanted to tell him to be careful. Wanted to tell him the walls were slowly closing in.

But she didn’t.

Instead, she stayed quiet.

And sometimes silence was louder than any warning.

Back at the station, the detectives were still getting nowhere. They questioned Theodore again, hoping this time he’d slip and give them something useful. Anything. But Theodore sat there calm, detached, and unimpressed by their desperation.

He answered what he wanted, ignored what he didn’t, and never once gave them enough to lead anywhere real.

It was like talking to a brick wall.

Later that night, Theodore’s phone lit up with a name he hadn’t expected to see.

Solei.

He stared at the screen for a second before answering.

“Why’d you reach out to me?” he asked, his tone flat.

Solei exhaled softly on the other end.

“Closure. I’m moving on… but I feel like there was a piece missing.”

Theodore leaned back, his jaw tightening.

“Aight. What’s the missing piece?”

Solei let out a light chuckle, almost playful, but it didn’t move him.

“Not sure. You tell me.”

Theodore’s expression hardened instantly.

“It’s nothing that needs to be said,” he replied. “You cheated and I moved on. Simple as that.”

He paused, letting the words sit heavy between them before continuing.

“I told you if you cheated on me, I was moving on. And you did exactly that… so I moved on.”

Solei went quiet.

For a moment, all she could hear was her own breathing. Because as cold as Theodore sounded, she could hear it underneath it—the hurt he never really got over.

And for the first time, she started to realize maybe closure wasn’t what she really wanted.

Maybe she wanted access.

Maybe she wanted to know if a piece of him still belonged to her.

But Theodore wasn’t about to make that easy.

Solei sat there in silence for a moment, gripping her phone tighter as Theodore’s words kept replaying in her head. He sounded detached, almost too detached, and it only made her want to push further.

“You really over me?” she finally asked, her voice quieter this time. More careful.

There was a pause on the other end.

Then Theodore let out a dry chuckle, the kind that carried no warmth at all.

“I have a wife and a daughter… what does that say?”

Solei went silent.

Her throat tightened, and for the first time since calling him, she didn’t know what to say back. That one sentence hit harder than any yelling match ever could.

Theodore exhaled, already done with the conversation.

“I gotta go. I got real shit to tend to. This is wasting my time.”

Before Solei could force out another word, the line went dead.

Click.

Solei slowly lowered the phone from her ear, staring at the screen like maybe it would explain why her chest suddenly felt so heavy.

She had called looking for closure, but all Theodore had really given her was reality.

He had moved on.

Built a life.

A family.

And whether he still carried any pain from what she did or not… he wasn’t about to let her back in.

But what hurt the most wasn’t what he said.

It was how easily he said it.

Like she was no longer a wound.

Just a lesson.

... Read moreReading "Rivalry Last Supper" truly immerses you in a world filled with tension, emotional depth, and intricate relationships. What strikes me most about this story is how it blends the suspense of unresolved crimes with the intimate struggles of people trying to rebuild their lives amid chaos. The way Trey and Zaire decide to move to a bigger house, searching for peace and space for their family, resonates as a real-life experience many can relate to—the desire to find safety and fresh starts when surrounded by turmoil. What I found particularly compelling was the portrayal of unanswered questions haunting the characters. Detectives struggle to find proof against Trey despite many suspicions, which adds an intense cat-and-mouse element to the narrative. It captures that frustrating uncertainty people often face when truth remains elusive. Moreover, the complex emotional exchanges, especially between Theodore and Solei, felt authentic and raw. The dialogue reveals how past heartbreak and unresolved feelings can linger, affecting decisions and how people interact. Solei's search for closure and Theodore's cold detachment showing he's moved on highlight that sometimes healing means accepting hard realities rather than rewriting the past. For readers who enjoy thrillers that also deeply explore human emotions and relationships, this book offers a layered experience. The themes of trust, family, and survival amid suspicion and danger create a gripping story that feels very personal. It also made me reflect on how silence—like Anjelys's choice not to warn Trey—can sometimes be the loudest response in difficult situations. Overall, "Rivalry Last Supper" leaves you thinking about the balance between running from the past and confronting it head-on, alongside the struggles people face to protect loved ones while chasing peace. This blend of mystery and heartfelt moments makes the final book a memorable conclusion to the series.
