Who Is A.Powell ?

For all the new followers, my name is A.Powell. Hey yall, heyyyyyy !! Firstly, I’d like to introduce myself as an author. I have ALWAYS had a passion for writing. My favorite books are Goosebumps/ Junie B; Jones, Hush, Hush, & urban Novels.

The first story I have written on lemon8 was Held Hostage @ His House. This story in fact is actually a true story. I never thought it would blow up as much as it did. That’s when I knew I found my platform to write short stories. I went on to speak about how things escalated between a guy I dated & myself. At the time, it was horrific, it truly felt as if I was in a scary, thriller movie & i couldn’t wake up. It truly did leave an unforgettable memory in my mind about abuse. After some time, it became just a memory which felt like a nightmare i was living. I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t want to.

From then on, I felt as if I could write just about any other short story that came to mind. Then people started messaging me about my short stories and demanded more & asked if I published books. I have. I have written a childrens book and 3 young adult books that became a series. I’ll be working on the fourth once I get time but there’s a book that I have started on here called , HIS STREETS, NOT MINE. A lot of people have been drawn to that as well as the Lines We Cross, it’s a lesbian series that I started as well.

Writing is MY PERSONAL way of expressing myself. I feel like thats the ONNNLYYYY way I get my point across. When I write. I think it’s easier because it’s like okay if people don’t listen to what I say, you gotta read it. 💁🏾‍♀️ 🤣 Either way, I don’t care. But I brought my writing to lemon8. I often got comments of people asking about is lemom8 the new wattpad and even mentioned about me writing on wattpad; asking me my name on wattpad as if I belonged, to be honest, the kind of stories I write, I can’t trust it to be on wattpad. Lemon8 isnt so much of an issue but wattpad is a writing platform. I expect that stories shouldnt be stolen and if so, people would be banned. I get a lot of people asking me why not write on wattpad ? The very book that everyone gives the MOST attention to, I want to publish before anybody even gets their hands on copying my craft. Hence why I copyright & notarize all of my books! 📚 🤭

Fyi. Look forward to more short stories/ questionnaires & even series !! Also tell me your favorite story written by me

... Read moreAs a writer, I always found that sharing my personal experiences through stories offers a unique way to connect with readers. Like A.Powell, many authors turn to platforms like Lemon8 because it provides an engaged community that appreciates authentic and heartfelt narratives. One thing that stands out in her journey is how she uses writing to process difficult events, such as the abuse she describes in "Held Hostage @ His House." This form of storytelling not only empowers the author but also resonates deeply with readers who might have gone through similar hardships. Writing about sensitive topics can be therapeutic and build a sense of solidarity among readers and writers alike. I also admire how A.Powell protects her creative work by copyrighting and notarizing her books, recognizing the importance of intellectual property in a digital world where content theft is a genuine concern. This is crucial advice for aspiring authors knowing how to safeguard their craft, especially on competitive platforms like Wattpad and Lemon8. Moreover, branching out into diverse genres such as children's literature, young adult series, and LGBTQ+ themes showcases A.Powell’s versatility. Her series like "Lines We Cross" explore lesbian relationships thoughtfully, adding to the much-needed representation in contemporary urban fiction. For anyone interested in starting their own writing journey, A.Powell’s experience highlights valuable lessons: finding a trusted platform, protecting one’s stories, and using writing as a powerful tool for self-expression and community building. I look forward to reading more of her stories and seeing how her upcoming works like "HIS STREETS, NOT MINE" unfold, further expanding her influence as a storyteller on Lemon8.
