A.Powell 🌸

Hey hey hey! 👋🏾 For those that are new to my page, my name is A.Powell. I do go by Mae Powell. I know yall have been enjoying my short stories and short series so have I. I love writing for yall. I didn’t even know I’d have such an audience for the kinda stories I write. I love yall wholeheartedly 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾 ( JUST A QUICK REMINDER)

I have been writing for a hot minute. I love what I do which is write. I do plan on furthering my writing into filming. I have tried to turn one of my books into a film and that was a FLOP (epic fail). It was A L O T wrong with why it wasnt ever successful. However everything is for a reason, right? Right. I do still plan on wanting my books to become a film. My films will definitely sell out in movies! 🍿

Just think about it like this ; imagine going to the movies and seeing off rip, ACTION !

A girl crying to her boyfriend about keeping the child instead of aborting it. Yet he still is hellbent on aborting the child but she wants to keep it. Then towards the end, she is like yeah ima just go head and take you out since you don’t want to be the father to our unborn child. CUT. SCENE. 🎬

What would be your thoughts? You’d be like WTF ? 😳 shocked. Confused. Concerned. Would be your emotion. 🤣

My books HAVE BEEN IT SINCE FOREVER. SINCE 2019/ 2020.

... Read moreAs someone who’s followed the journey of independent writers turning their passions into multi-format creative successes, I find A.Powell’s story deeply inspiring. Starting with short stories on platforms like Reddit is a powerful way to build a loyal audience, especially when the narratives touch on raw, emotional themes like the one A.Powell describes—conflict over pregnancy and the tension of complex relationships. What stands out is her honest reflection on trying to adapt her book into a film. Many creators face similar setbacks when transitioning from written content to visual media. Issues can range from production challenges to storytelling adjustments that don't land as expected on screen. Yet her resilience and vision to keep pursuing film adaptations is a common and fruitful experience for many authors. For others looking to take their literary work to the screen, it’s important to understand the different demands of each medium and possibly collaborate with experienced filmmakers who can help translate the story effectively. Building a strong narrative universe through consistent short stories, as A.Powell has since 2019/2020, establishes a solid foundation both creatively and with an audience. Personal experience also shows that incorporating authentic and provocative themes, like the intense and shocking scenes she mentions, grabs attention and sparks discussion—key ingredients for successful storytelling whether on page or screen. More broadly, writers who embrace both writing and visual storytelling open new avenues to expand their reach and engage audiences in compelling ways. Ultimately, A.Powell’s journey is a testament to the passion and persistence required to succeed creatively. Her readers and followers are fortunate to witness the growth of these stories as they evolve toward exciting film possibilities, promising impactful scenes immediately grabbing viewers’ attention. This blend of raw narrative emotion and medium expansion is where many creative careers flourish today.
