SENECA TRATTORIA

If you are looking for a nice rooftop restaurant in San Diego you must try Seneca. Beautiful rooftop restaurant with amazing beach views. The food is delicious they’re most famous for their traditional Italian pizza and drinks. The staff is super friendly and you get to choose if you want indoor or patio seating. Amazing delight, recommend Seneca 100%. If you have tried it let me know what your experience was .

Seneca Trattoria

... Read moreAfter my visit to Seneca Trattoria in San Diego, I just had to share more details beyond my initial enthusiasm! What truly blew me away, apart from the incredible food, were the breathtaking panoramic views. From the moment I stepped onto the rooftop, I was greeted by the sparkling San Diego bay and the iconic city skyline stretching out before me, just like those pictures you see. It’s perfect for a sunset dinner, or even a sunny daytime lunch – the atmosphere completely transforms from a bright, airy space to a cozy, beautifully lit evening spot. I even noticed a refreshing cocktail garnished with a purple orchid, making the experience feel extra special as you gaze at the city lights. Speaking of food, their traditional Italian pizza is definitely a highlight, and for good reason! I tried their classic Margherita, and the crust was perfectly crisp, the sauce fresh, and the cheese melted to perfection. It felt like a little slice of Italy right here in San Diego, and I’m already planning my next trip to try more of their authentic offerings. While pizza is their fame, I also noticed other delicious-looking Italian dishes being served around me, demonstrating a diverse menu that caters to various tastes. Don't forget to check out their menu online before you go to get a head start on what to order! The seating options are fantastic. We opted for the sunny outdoor patio, which had comfortable bench seating and those charming striped awnings that added to the Mediterranean feel. It’s an inviting space that makes you want to linger. However, I also peeked into the elegant indoor dining room – it had warm lighting, wooden floors, and comfortable booths, offering a more intimate experience, especially if it gets breezy or you're looking for a more formal setting. What really caught my eye and added to the unique charm was the detailed stone statue of 'SENECA THE YOUNGER' holding a trident outside; it adds such a distinctive, almost historical, touch to the outdoor area, making it feel more than just a restaurant. One thing that truly enhanced my visit was the incredibly friendly staff. They were attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making sure everyone had a great time. This kind of service really makes a difference. My top tip for anyone planning a visit: try to make a reservation, especially if you're hoping for a prime spot on the rooftop during sunset or if you want to experience Seneca San Diego at night. It can get quite popular! Parking in the area can sometimes be a bit tricky, so factor that into your plans or consider ridesharing. Whether you're looking for a romantic evening, a fun outing with friends, or just a delicious Italian meal with an unforgettable backdrop, Seneca San Diego truly delivers an amazing delight. I've already recommended it to all my friends, and I hope you get to experience its charm too!
