Rainy season in Boracay? Yes or No?
Absolutely YES! It means cheaper rooms & flights plus not as many people but of course maybe rain. Things to know:
1. Where you stay in Boracay matters. We preferred station Three. Less crowded, more intimate restaurants. Short walk to busy areas but away enough to avoid the noise
2. Loved @Villa Camilla Boracay beautiful beachfront boutique hotel. Great rooms, food, staff, views. Rainy season meant we could upgrade to a beach front room including breakfast.
3. We used a transfer company to meet us at Caticlan airport and handle the full transfer process to our accomodation on Boracay - including: transfer in private mini bus from airport to ferry, buy ferry tickets and help us onto ferry, then collect us from the ferry wharf in Boracay & transfer us right to our hotel, that meant an over-sand trolly transfer of our luggage when we got to Boracay beach (it would have been a long walk from the road to hotel without it. Made trip so much easier!
4. Rainy season can mean typhoons, be prepared to have planes or ferries cancelled due to bad weather. We were ok but it does happen.#travel #phillipines #travelling #travelblogger #traveler #instatravel #over50travel #womeninspiringwomen #womenwhotravelsolo #womenover50 #over50women #over50andfabulous #forfunsake
Traveling to Boracay during the rainy season offers unique advantages that many don’t often consider. From my own experience, one of the best perks is definitely the affordability—hotels and flights are significantly cheaper, making this an ideal time for budget-conscious travelers to enjoy the beauty of the island without the usual crowds. Staying in Station Three allows you to enjoy a peaceful, less congested environment with cozy restaurants, yet still close enough to the lively spots for convenience. The rainy season also presents some unexpected benefits like room and service upgrades. For instance, I stayed at a charming beachfront boutique hotel where I was upgraded to a room with a spectacular beach view and inclusive breakfast. Moreover, efficient transfer services from Caticlan Airport to your accommodation make the journey hassle-free, especially when your luggage must be transported over sandy paths — a detail often overlooked by first-time visitors. It’s important to be prepared for the occasional adverse weather. Rainy season coincides with the typhoon period, which can disrupt travel plans with flight or ferry cancellations. However, with flexible scheduling and checking local weather forecasts ahead of time, the risk can be managed effectively. Ultimately, don’t wait for the 'perfect' sunny day to visit Boracay; embracing the rainy season can lead to a rewarding and more intimate island experience.
