Change partner?GRWM😉🤌🏻#makeup #grwm #relationships
From my experience, trying to change someone in a relationship rarely works if they themselves are not willing. It’s tempting to believe that with enough love or effort, a partner’s habits, personality, or even emotional wounds can be fixed, but this often leads to frustration and disappointment. One key lesson I’ve learned is that people only change when they hit a personal low or have a deep desire to improve themselves—not because of external pressure or fear of losing a partner. This means that entering a relationship hoping to ‘fix’ someone can create an unhealthy dynamic where expectations are unmet. Instead, I recommend focusing on accepting your partner as they are today. Appreciate their strengths and quirks without trying to control their growth. When you do this, both partners feel respected and the relationship can evolve naturally and healthily. Also, I’ve noticed that staying in a relationship out of hope for someone to change often drains your emotional energy. It’s essential to recognize when this hope becomes a burden rather than a motivating factor. Choosing someone for who they truly are at the moment can bring more happiness and peace than holding onto what you wish they could be. Ultimately, commitment is about mutual growth, but the initiative must come from within each person. Supporting your partner’s journey is wonderful, but it can’t substitute for their own desire to change. Remember, you can’t pour water into someone who isn’t thirsty; change has to come from their heart. Stay mindful of this to cultivate healthier relationships and personal well-being.
