Training your puppy to sit is an essential command that lays the foundation for further obedience training. To begin, choose a quiet, distraction-free area to help Fox focus. Use small, tasty treats as rewards when he successfully follows your command. Start by holding a treat above his nose, moving it slowly backward over his head. As Fox looks up to follow the treat, his bottom will naturally lower to the ground. As soon as he sits, say the command "sit" and reward him immediately. Consistency is key! Repeat this process several times a day, gradually reducing the treats as he learns the command better. Incorporate short sessions of 5-10 minutes to keep his attention. Make it exciting by combining playtime with training, ensuring that Fox knows that learning can be fun. Remember to stay patient and positive throughout the training process. If you encounter challenges, consider breaking down the steps even further or consulting training resources online to gain additional insights and techniques.
