If you enjoy mystery and suspense in your Paranormal Romance and are looking for the perfect winter read, Cold Hearted is a must-read.
I borrowed ‘Cold Hearted’ by Heather Guerre via Kindle Unlimited, needing a book to read for the Romanceopoly January Session (Book Club)(Read a PNR with a small town setting with a winter theme), and was glad I found this one. (The one picked for the book club, I ended up not finishing.)
This book had me hooked from the beginning, and I enjoyed the ride, especially with the mystery behind why the FMC, Grace, was in Alaska and what everyone was. I may have figured out what happened to her from some hints, but that didn’t stop me from reading. I wanted to know what would happen, especially once the MMC, Caleb, stopped being grumpy toward her, realized she was in danger, and would do anything to protect her.

... Read moreIf you are a fan of paranormal romance with a twist of mystery and suspense, 'Cold Hearted' by Heather Guerre is an excellent choice, especially as a cozy winter read. The setting of a small Alaskan town adds atmospheric charm and isolation that intensify the story’s suspense and romance. From my experience, books with a grumpy hero who eventually reveals a protective side, combined with forced proximity, create a compelling emotional buildup that keeps you invested in the characters’ journeys.
The allure of a slow-burn romance mixed with paranormal elements like shifters enriches the narrative without rushing the development.
One of the aspects I personally appreciate in this book is how the author balances the mystery about Grace’s past and the underlying threats, which keeps readers guessing while gradually unfolding the characters’ backstories.
If you enjoy reading via Kindle Unlimited or belong to a book club like Romanceopoly, 'Cold Hearted' fits well within themes of small town settings and winter ambiance, making it perfect for seasonal reading challenges.
Additionally, exploring full reviews on platforms such as Goodreads or book blogs can deepen your appreciation and provide more insights into Heather Guerre’s storytelling style. Overall, this title stands out for anyone seeking a paranormal romance that blends emotional depth with thrilling suspense in a wintry, cozy atmosphere.
