... Read moreYou know that effortlessly cool, bohemian, and super cozy vibe you get when you scroll through Urban Outfitters Home? I'm obsessed with it too, especially for small apartment living! It’s all about creating a space that feels lived-in, curated, and uniquely *you*, without necessarily breaking the bank. Based on the bits of my apartment I shared, you might see how I try to bring that aesthetic into my own space, and I wanted to dive a little deeper into how you can achieve it too! One of the biggest takeaways from the UO Home aesthetic is the idea of curated imperfection. It's not about everything matching perfectly but rather about pieces with character. Think about those stacks of Vogue magazines or local newspapers like 'The Scout Guide Tampa & St. Petersburg Florida' I mentioned. They're more than just reading material; they're decor! Arranging them artfully on a beige couch's ottoman or a windowsill adds a touch of intellectual charm and vintage flair. It tells a story, and that's very UO. Don't be afraid to display your favorite books or art magazines – they instantly elevate a space from plain to personalized. Another aspect I adore is making functional items beautiful. My three-tiered black and wood rolling cart for cleaning supplies is a prime example. Instead of hiding everything away, I've organized it aesthetically in clear jars and bottles. This not only keeps things tidy but also turns an everyday necessity into a stylish vignette. Urban Outfitters often features storage solutions that are both practical and pretty, and this is a great way to emulate that. Look for natural materials like wood or metal, and don't shy away from displaying your essentials if they look good! And who can forget the heart of a cozy home? For me, that's my CASABREWS espresso machine! Creating a dedicated coffee station, even a small one, instantly ups the cozy factor. Think about a cute mug collection, a small plant (like my Monstera!), and perhaps some art above it. It's about creating little moments and rituals in your home that make it feel special and inviting. But how do you really get that Urban Outfitters Home look without buying everything directly from them? My secret is thrifting and mixing high-and-low. Many of the unique pieces you see in UO's collections are inspired by vintage finds. Hit up your local thrift stores, flea markets, or even online marketplaces for unique furniture pieces, quirky decor, or even vintage magazines. A simple wooden stool can become a plant stand, or an old blanket can be draped over your beige couch for instant texture. The key is to look for items with character and potential. Don't underestimate the power of greenery either! The large Monstera plant in my living room isn't just a pretty face; it brings life and a fresh, natural element that is quintessential to the UO aesthetic. Even smaller potted plants can make a huge difference in brightening up a space and adding that earthy, bohemian touch. Finally, lighting is everything! Warm, ambient lighting can transform any room into a cozy sanctuary. Think about adding string lights, unique table lamps, or even just swapping out harsh overheads for softer bulbs. It's all about layering different light sources to create a welcoming atmosphere. Decorating a small apartment is a journey, not a destination. It’s about experimenting, finding what resonates with your personal style, and making your space truly feel like home. These UO-inspired touches have made my apartment my absolute favorite place to be, and I hope they inspire you to create your own aesthetic retreat too!
