vintage haul that looks expensive💐

hi friends!!

i went thrifting recently and found SO MANY home decor gems that i wanted to share!

first, i'm in the middle of piecing together a gallery wall and wanted to thrift unique frames for it! i'm going for a neutral, gem toned color scheme and these look AMAZING!

second, i found this deep red bag that i thought would be perfect to hold all of my favorite magazines, newspapers, etc!

lastly, i found this piece that resembled a dice - i think i definitely have it flipped upside down, so it should hold a candle, but i love i honestly love it how i have it, and want to put a plant on top and have it drape over the sides!

what do you think of my vintage haul?!

... Read moreFinding those perfect vintage pieces that elevate your home without breaking the bank is truly an art! My latest haul, with its unique frames and that versatile dark red vintage tote bag, proves that you don't need to spend a fortune to create an expensive-looking aesthetic. If you're hoping to score your own home decor gems, here are some tips I've picked up along the way to help you build your own stunning vintage haul. First, know your hunting grounds. While local thrift stores are my absolute go-to for hidden treasures, don't overlook flea markets, antique fairs, estate sales, or even online marketplaces for more specific searches. Each spot offers a different kind of thrill and selection. I've found some incredible picture frames at charity shops for less than $5 each – perfect for building a gallery wall on a budget, just like I'm doing! The key is to go often and be patient; the best finds often appear when you least expect them. When you're sifting through racks and shelves, try to see the potential in items. Look for quality materials like solid wood, brass, sturdy ceramics, or unique glass. These materials often age beautifully and lend themselves to that high-end look. Often, a piece might just need a good clean or a fresh coat of paint to transform it entirely. That perforated ceramic piece I found, which I'm now using for a plant, could easily be a stunning candle holder or a small vase with a bit of imagination. Don't be afraid to think about how you can repurpose things; that's where the real magic happens and you get the most unique items. For instance, my dark red vintage tote bag now serves as a stylish magazine holder, keeping my living room tidy and adding a pop of color. It was such a steal, costing less than $3! Once you've brought your treasures home, the fun of styling begins! A great way to make vintage pieces look cohesive and modern is to mix them with contemporary items. Don't feel like everything has to be old. Use your thrifted finds as statement pieces or accents. For gallery walls, play with different sizes and shapes of picture frames and consider painting them a uniform color, or a complementary palette like neutral and gem tones, to create a sophisticated and curated look. Cleaning is also crucial; a simple wipe-down or polish can bring an old item back to life. For textile items like vintage blankets or cushion covers, a gentle wash can work wonders. Remember, the goal is to create a space that feels uniquely *you*, telling a story with each carefully chosen, pre-loved item. Happy hunting, and I can't wait to see what affordable gems you add to your next vintage haul!
