Laundry rules I break (don’t judge LOL)🤭

hi friends!!

i am a victim of being bad at doing laundry properly.... so i need to tell you guys a few laundry rules that i break and please tell me if you do the same or if i'm just strange LOL

- sorting by color – I usually toss darks and lights together. so far, no disasters 😅

- washing jeans separately – they get washed with everything else; just keep the load reasonable.

- washing delicate by hand – my delicates go in a mesh bag and straight in the machine.

- drying everything properly – some items air dry, others go in the dryer on low — laziness wins.

- not overloading the washer – guilty… I cram it when I’m in a rush.

so yeah... please let me know if you do these same things! 🙊

... Read moreLaundry routines can be a challenge, especially when balancing time and convenience. Many people, like me, often find themselves bending the traditional laundry rules to save effort—whether it’s mixing colors or treating delicates less carefully. Surprisingly, modern machines and fabric innovations have made it more forgiving to occasionally break these guidelines without significant damage. For example, tossing darks and lights together might sound risky, but with cold water cycles and proper detergents, color bleeding is less frequent than one might fear. Washing jeans separately is another classic tip meant to protect fabric and color, but washing them with other items on a gentle cycle and reasonable load seems effective at preserving quality while saving time. When it comes to delicates, using mesh bags allows machine washing without the wear and tear that direct agitation might cause. Air drying some items and low-heat drying others is a good compromise between care and convenience, recognizing that over-drying can degrade fibers. Overloading the washer is a common lazy move, but it can reduce cleaning efficiency and strain your machine, so it’s a trade-off between speed and care. It’s comforting to know that many people share these unorthodox approaches, proving that laundry doesn’t have to be perfect to be practical. Have you found similar shortcuts that work for you?
