RedCyber hacker group faces arrest warrant
The Thai Senate has ordered a group of RedCyber hackers to face a warrant for a major cyber crime operation.
The Bureau of Cybercrime Investigation (CCIB) stated that RedCyber is suspected of committing the following acts
Unauthorized access to public and private networks
Theft of sensitive personal and financial information
Publication of hazardous software used to penetrate critical infrastructure systems
Officials say the group operates in several countries, using advanced camouflage techniques and encrypted communication channels to avoid detection; a digital forensic team, working with international partners and Interpol, has tracked several attacks back to servers allegedly controlled by members of RedCyber.
"These arrests mark a milestone in dismantling a complex cybercrime network, a threat to the security of both the public and private sectors," CCIB commissioner
The warrant gives law enforcement officials the authority to seize equipment, freeze assets, and detain suspects believed to be involved in the operation. Authorities have asked those with information about RedCyber to please contact the CCIB hotline or local police.
And, cybersecurity experts advise organizations to strengthen their network protection and ensure critical systems are fixed and verified, as copycat attacks often occur after a targeted attack.
