According to a report by the website Biget, a research team from Kaspersky, a well-known antivirus software developer, has detected a large number of malware theft campaigns from the victim's machine, or a new Infostealer called Stealka, impersonating game modifications, or mods (Mod) for famous Roblox video games, as well as impersonating game cheating tools, and cracks for video games on the Windows operating system. This malware has spread among famous websites - GitHub, SourceForge, and Softpedia - as well as fake websites created by hackers on sites.google.com
That malware, after being installed to the machine, will steal data from various web browsers installed on the machine, covering various web browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Yandex Browser, Edge, and Brave. It focuses on stealing data from scriptokerrency add-ons like Binance, Coinbase, MetaMask, and Trust Wallet. In addition, the malware also steals password data inside Password Manager add-ons like 1Password, NordPass, and LastPass with data inside 2-layer authentication applications (2FA or 2 Factors Authentication), such as Google Authenticator, Authy, and Bitwarden, can also be called malware that can steal data in a variety of ways.
And what adds even more harm to this malware is that the malware can steal Encrypted Files related to the wallet and Cryptokerrency applications such as Private Keys, Seed Phrase, and the files inside the Cryptokerrency wallet (Wallet File Path) from Binance, Exodus, MyCrypto, and MyMonero applications with multiple Wallet applications such as Bitcoin, BitcoinABC, Dogecoin, Ethereum, Monero, Novacoin, and Solar.
In addition to stealing data about Kryptokerrency, the malware also has the ability to steal data and Token for authentication from a variety of applications such as Discord, Telegram, 1Password, Bitward, LastPass, Gmail Notifier Pro, Mailbird, Outlook, NoteFly, Notezilla, Microsoft StickyNotes, OpenVPN, ProtonVPN, and WindscribeVPN.
