More than 700 educational sites and tech companies were hacked into the ClickFix campaign.
According to a report by the official website of the anti-malware developer Malwarebytes, it has mentioned the detection of a vulnerability of a website content management tool or Content Management System (CMS) called Ghost. By relying on the vulnerability CVE － 2026 ☆ 26980, a vulnerability that allows hackers to launch SQL Injection to steal the API Key for website management to launch JavaScript into posts on the site. The firing of this script can affect the entire website. The script brings the victim to the verification page. The fake Verification of Cloudflare, a service for protecting websites from attack (DDoS or Distributed Denial-of-Service). On this fake Captcha page, the victim commands the code to be placed on Run, claiming to be authenticated, but actually downloading and installing malware.
The research team found that more than 700 websites have been victims of hackers' use of such vulnerabilities, which are often highly trusted organizations like tech companies and universities. It has also been revealed that the affected version of the Ghost CMS tool will range from version 3.24.0 to 6.19.0. The source does not indicate that the new update has resolved the issue.
