Microsoft stormed off the Open Source project on Github.
Microsoft stormed off the Open Source project on Github en masse after the incident was found to have fired a massive malware hit.
According to a report by the SCWorld website, Microsoft has shut down access to many Github Open Source projects to investigate cases of suspicion that hackers have fired to insert code (Injection) intended as password theft malware into them. Sources have reported that more than 70 projects have been shut down in the wake of this incident.
The sources also revealed that the research team detected was a research team from Cloudsmith and OpenSourceMalware, a cloud management specialist and a community group on dealing with open source malware, respectively. After the two research teams detected doubts about hacker attack behavior in this form, they reported to Microsoft. Microsoft confirmed that the detected attack was real and led to the closure of the above-mentioned projects. It also revealed that the closed-access projects were all projects. It involves infrastructure like Microsoft Azure's cloud services and AI or Artificial Intelligence development projects, which makes it expected to be a supply chain attack or Supply Chain Attack, which hacks accounts and inserts malware into existing software and is necessary to infiltrate the victim's system.
