BlueHammer vulnerability found on Windows
BlueHammer vulnerability found on Windows can be used to embed ransomware
A report by the website Security Week discussed the detection of serious security vulnerabilities on the Windows 11 operating system by two independent cybersecurity researchers, Chaotic Eclipse and Nightmare Eclipse. These two researchers were among those who had a bad sense of Microsoft's pattern of dealing with security vulnerabilities, who tended to disclose the existence of security vulnerabilities before issuing updates to plug them. Both revealed that the vulnerabilities they detected were highly serious within Microsoft's cyberdefense software, Microsoft Defender. That allows logged-in hackers to postpone their Privilege access to the system. It also named the vulnerability BlueHammer. The vulnerability was later coded CVE-2026-33825 and the existence of the vulnerability was revealed on April 2. Before Microsoft released an update to plug it on April 14 (which was the same practice that the two researchers were unhappy with, but no changes were made.
In addition, Microsoft has not confirmed that the vulnerability has been exploited by hackers, contrary to reports by cybersecurity expert Huntess that the vulnerability has been successfully exploited. In line with the fact that CISA (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency) has added a list of vulnerabilities to its list of known vulnerabilities, or KEV (Known Exploited Vulnerabilities), it is said that a ransom group of malware users, or Ransomware, has successfully exploited the vulnerability to embed ransomware into the system but has not been opened. Reveal which group it is.
Therefore, any Windows 11 user who has not yet installed the April update requests that Windows 11 be updated to the latest version immediately to prevent unwitting use of the vulnerability.
