Research has shown that 43% of ransomware victims fail to solve a vulnerability before being hacked.

According to a report by the website Cybersecurity, Dive referenced an annual report on ransomware from Black Kite, a cybersecurity specialist firm, which revealed the following interesting and worrying corporate cybersecurity behavior:

43% of all ransomware victims currently have at least one Critical Vulnerability vulnerability.

About 31% of all ransomware victims still have security vulnerabilities that the CISA (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency) alerted to are widely used by hackers.

59% of all victims have incorrectly set up email authentication systems, set security policies, and save reports or DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance).

About 32% of all victims have incorrect DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) settings, resulting in hackers being able to impersonate domains to send fraudulent emails to victims.

There are about 5 large groups occupying up to 43.6% of the victim's share.

About 61 of those groups are new to this ecological state.

The industries that prey most on ransomware are the manufacturing industry, with 1,660 cases, which accounts for 22% of all data released into the Dark Web.
