My First Crochet Commision
I learned how to crochet about a year ago. I usually just do it for fun, but I started making stuffed animals for gift giving occasions. They're a big hit.
So, I made my brother this little dragon cause he's into DND and fantasy and such. We went out axe throwing for his birthday and I brought the dragon to give to him. He loved it and everyone thought it was so cute. Rightfully so, it's adorable.
My mom was playing with the dragon at a table, taking a break from axe throwing, and one of the employees noticed. He asked if she made it. She directed him to me, and he said that if I crocheted him a stuffed throwing axe, he would give me 3 free axe throwing sessions.
Obviously I said yes, cause that is the equivalent of paying me $75 and I have a lot of fun throwing axes. I was not expecting to get commissioned by a stranger at an axe throwing place.
I've had family request specific stuffed animals as gifts, but this was the first time someone who wasn't related to me asked for anything, much less offered to compensate me for it.
Now my family is saying I should sell stuffed animals, and it is tempting. But right now I'm focused on publishing my novel, so that will have to wait a while.
