DumDum Really Tried Me in Cyberpunk 2077 💀
Just casually walking into chaos… and yeah, DumDum & Royce made it worse 😅
Did I survive? Debatable.
Okay, so my last post was about my wild run-in with Royce and DumDum in Cyberpunk 2077. But seriously, who is Royce, and why does this guy (and his gang!) leave such an impression? If you're like me, you probably stumbled into the Maelstrom's territory and quickly realized these guys don't mess around. Royce is one of the most memorable early-game antagonists you'll encounter in Night City, specifically during the "The Pickup" mission. He's a key figure in the Maelstrom gang, known for their extreme cyberware modifications and ruthless demeanor. Imagine a guy with more chrome than skin, glowing red eyes, and absolutely zero chill – that's Royce for you. He’s often found at the All Foods plant, which becomes a hotbed of Maelstrom activity and the stage for your first major confrontation. The Maelstrom gang itself is a force to be reckoned with. They're obsessed with cybernetic enhancements, pushing the boundaries of human-machine integration to terrifying extremes. They believe in constant upgrades, often at the cost of their own humanity and sanity. Walking into their turf feels like stepping into a cyberpunk horror flick – dark, grimy, and filled with unpredictable, heavily armed individuals. Their brutality and lack of empathy make any interaction with them incredibly tense and often violent, which is exactly why my encounter turned so chaotic! For those searching about "Royce Cyberpunk anime," it's easy to see why this character, and the Maelstrom in general, would spark interest for an animated adaptation! While there isn't a dedicated anime series just for Royce from Cyberpunk 2077, characters like him perfectly embody the gritty, high-contrast aesthetic seen in *Cyberpunk: Edgerunners*. The Maelstrom's extreme cyberware, their dark, industrial environments, and their no-holds-barred attitude are all elements that translate incredibly well into an anime format, creating visually stunning and action-packed scenes. It makes me wish we could see more of Night City's gangs, like Maelstrom, get their own animated spin-offs! My personal tip when dealing with Royce and the Maelstrom? Always go in prepared. Seriously, stock up on ammo, grenades, and health items. Every decision you make during "The Pickup" mission can have significant consequences, not just for the mission itself, but for your relationship with other characters and vendors later on. Whether you choose to pay, fight, or try to talk your way through, be ready for a fight. They don't give you many easy outs. Dealing with Royce is a true test of your combat skills and often, your moral compass in the harsh world of Cyberpunk 2077.
