NOT OKAY
On April 25th I gave birth to my baby. I received 10 weeks of paid leave. I am now due back to work and I am not okay!!!
I don’t want to go back but I know I have too 🥺🥺
This is going to be hard. I’m probably going to cry my first day back
Returning to work after maternity leave can be a daunting experience for many new mothers. The emotional rollercoaster is real, ranging from excitement to overwhelming anxiety about leaving your baby. Many women express feelings of guilt and sadness, worrying about how they will manage their roles both at home and at work. It's common to feel 'not okay' during this transition. Building a support system can help ease your return to the workplace. Connecting with other working moms or joining forums can provide a safe space to share these feelings and gain understanding. Organizations that prioritize family-friendly policies, such as flexible hours and on-site childcare, can also significantly reduce stress. Communication with employers about your concerns is essential as well; many are willing to offer accommodations to ensure a smoother transition. It's crucial to prioritize self-care and establish a solid routine to mitigate stress. Planning your days, establishing a feeding schedule, and even practicing mindfulness techniques can significantly assist in coping with the changes. Remember, you are not alone in this journey. Reaching out to others who have been through a similar experience can help you navigate this challenging time. Embrace the support from your community, and remember it's entirely normal to have mixed emotions about returning to work.

I was in the same boat a year ago! I did not go back. I got my psychiatrist to put me off work for 9 months bc I wasn’t mentally able to go back! Do what’s best for you and your baby! Sending love and light your way. 😇
