Avoid burnout in 2025!!!
Did you end 2024 feeling dead inside from burnout too?🤪 Here are some of my 2025 goals for avoiding burnout and stretching myself too thin as a part time GRA, part time student and part time server!📚
🎓Habit 1: Always “get ready” on in office days.
📚How It Helps Me: I always feel more put together if I am looking the part. Having at least my hair or makeup done, or a nice outfit on allows me to be more productive. Hanging out in sweats on campus all day leaves me too comfy and unmotivated.
🎓Habit 2: Create a space at home designated for working that is not your bed.
📚How It Helps Me: This keeps me focused and prevents me from mixing work time with time I should be relaxing. If we’re constantly working where we sleep, it’ll catch up with our bodies!
🎓Habit 3: Find new hobbies!!!
📚How It Helps Me: Since I’ve been in grad school, I have struggled with feeling like work and school are my entire identity. This keeps me in fight or flight, and keeps anxiety at an all time high. I learned I need to intentionally block out time for myself and for activities that I do simply because I enjoy them.
🎓Habit 4: Make that vision board!!!
📚How It Helps Me: If vision boards don’t help you as you reference them throughout the year to be reminded or revise your goals, at the very least, it’s a fun activity!
🎓Habit 5: Sanctuary space
📚How It Helps Me: Making a little sanctuary space goes along with habit number 2- making sure you have an intentional space to relax and unwind where you don’t have to think of work is crucial. Your whole life does NOT have to be your career!
🎓Habit 6: Self explanatory😻

Burnout is a prevalent issue, especially in high-pressure environments like graduate school. To start, it's crucial to establish a consistent routine and stick to it. Getting ready for the day, even when you're working from home, can boost your mental health and productivity. Additionally, finding a distinct workspace can segregate work from relaxation, reducing stress levels that come from mixing the two. Engaging in hobbies is another essential strategy for mental wellness. This diversion allows you to explore your interests outside of academics and work, fostering a sense of identity that isn't solely academic or career-driven. This way, you can prevent burnout by ensuring that your life encompasses more than just your commitments. Vision boards can be an enjoyable and motivational exercise that helps clarify your goals for the year, ensuring you remain focused and inspired. Lastly, creating a 'sanctuary space' where you can unwind is vital for a balanced life. This area should be free from work-related distractions, allowing you to truly relax and rejuvenate. Remember, investing time in yourself and your mental wellness is just as important as any academic or work achievement.

This is great ❤️🥰
