Get to know me!

Hi hi im Reba the owner of frog and fern studios! Im a philly based bone artist and aspiring taxidermist who creates whimsical, nature-inspired art.

My sculptural series, which I call Oddity Sculptures, features delicate and detailed creations made from sustainability sourced materials like animal bones, insects, moss, and flowers—sourced by me or fellow foragers. These pieces blend the natural and the unexpected, celebrating the beauty in overlooked forest treasures with a feminine and enchanted aesthetic.

I also create a line of cheerful, character-driven illustrations I call Funny Art—inspired by animals, nature, and light-hearted humor. My designs are meant to make people smile or laugh, and are featured on stickers, keychains, hats, notebooks, and pins. Each piece brings a little bit of charm and cottagecore magic into the everyday.

Whether it's a mossy bone sculpture or a giggling forest creature on a sticker, my work invites people to find joy and wonder in the natural—and sometimes slightly odd—world around them.#gettoknowme #phillyartist #whimsigoth Philadelphia #taxidermy #oddities

... Read moreIf you're fascinated by unique art forms that weave nature's hidden beauty into every piece, Frog and Fern Studios is a captivating creative space to explore. Reba, the Philly-based artist behind the studio, transforms sustainably sourced animal bones, insects, moss, and flowers—gathered personally or from fellow foragers—into delicate Oddity Sculptures. These sculptures illuminate the enchanting and often overlooked elements of the forest, blending natural materials with an unexpected, feminine aesthetic inspired by whimsy and gothic charm. This artistry extends beyond sculpture to vibrant, character-driven funny illustrations affectionately called Funny Art. These illustrations emphasize lighthearted humor and nature's charm, appearing on a variety of everyday items like stickers, pins, notebooks, keychains, and hats. The goal? To spark joy and laughter, adding a touch of cottagecore magic to daily life. Reba’s work embodies a profound connection to nature and sustainability while creatively expressing the magic found in the small, quirky wonders of the natural world. The cautionary notes featured in her displays — "DO NOT LET YOUR CHILDREN TOUCH ANYTHING" — protect these fragile pieces and reflect the artist’s respect for the delicate materials used. Prices for some pieces, like vertebrae rings and tiny jars containing natural oddities, are modest, making this intriguing art accessible. The blend of taxidermy aspirations with whimsical bone art gives Frog and Fern Studios a distinctive identity among Philly artists, drawing interest from those who appreciate forest oddities and enchanting, nature-inspired design. Whether you’re a lover of gothic aesthetics, cottagecore style, or simply unique handmade art, this studio invites you to experience a playful yet reverent exploration of nature’s curiosities. Supporting artists like Reba means encouraging sustainable art practices and celebrating creativity that honors the environment’s finer details. Delving into her work offers a fresh perspective on art rooted deeply in nature and humor, sparking wonder and connection with the natural world around us.
